Default 08/22/03-Midnight Hwy 9 backside run

Ok, due to popular demand, and the sun coming out. Let's do this tonight!!

What: Midnight cruise through hwy9 to Santa Cruz and coming back on 17.

Date: 08/22/03 Friday (tonight)

Time: 11:40PM

Location: park behind the gas station.
(goto yahoo map and enter the following
Big Basin Way At Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga, CA 95070

Other Details: Bring a 2-way radio if you can. PM me if you can attend so I can give you the 2-way radio channel as well to know who I should be expecting. For those that already reply to this thread, I'll pm you the channel later this afternoon.

When you get there, just park in the parking lot behind the gas station and turn off your light. I don't want to draw too much attention to ourselves. We will start off at Midnight slowly roll toward hwy 9. Do not open up until we are past the bridge.

Guys,
It was a nice run. Thanks for everyone that came out. Looking forward to do this again soon...maybe next week? (hint )

Failsaf3, did your G-Tech work? I know you haven't set it up but does it shows how many G's we're doing in turns? Where did you buy it from? I think that's gonna be my next toy.

Next week I'll watch that dip a little more. And just so y'all know, I was slow on the 17 only cuz I was in a gas-conserving mode. The freaking DTE meter was refusing to show me numbers! :-o

yeah, that was a great run... tbb was right, definantly better without the 'excess baggages'

Yeah, I'm down to do this next friday again... maybe we should do the reverse route next time... head down 9 to SC then come back up through 84 and 9.

It was cool to see a mix of cars. That 330 and the M3 was freaken fast through 17.

suck for longbowe though with the sheriff in the begining.. hopefully you had fun to make up for it.
Just to be on the safe side, I think my next toy is gonna be a V1...

Well, next time, make sure you guy have gas!!
Also, I'll try to get couple more E46 M3 and my bro's 330 to join us

Yea it's set up and it actually measures G's for acceleration, deceleration and lateral G's in real time. I just haven't done any acceleration runs yet to monitor 0-60, 1/4 or the HP/TQ. I'm still need to find a nice desolate road where I can do the 1/4.

I bought mine from http://www.gtechpro.com/

As for the run had a blast. But I feel like a sketchy driver at night. Always fun to run with the Bimmer guys, though.

Oh, I definitely had fun! Would be even more fun with a few fair ladies driving some fairladies, but oh well. As for the cop, he was nice enough. Seems like he hated having to pull me over. He gave me the standard, "If I had a car like this, I would've done the same thing." He was pretty personable, using the familiar "dude" a lot after a while, instead of the customary "sir" only.

But I think he recognized me as I pulled back onto Big Basin after initially meeting up with you guys. He didn't look too happy. :OP
