Dealer not equipped to do alignment?

Dealer not equipped to do alignment?
I went to the San Leandro Nissan dealership (where I purchased the Z) hoping to get a fix for my "drifting to the right" problem. I was told that they dont have the equipment to do an alignment on the 350Z and the car has to be sent to Wheel Works.
Are there any Nissan dealerships in the Bay Area that can do alignments in their own service shop? Or has anyone done the same thing with a dealership and didnt have any problems?
I just dont like the fact that they are going to drive my car to some shop and plus they told me it was going to take the whole day.
Any suggestions?

Went to San Leandro Nissan and let me take my car to Wheel Work myself. But make sure you bring along the alignment spec since they don't it on their computer yet.
Very minor paint chip on the wheel and i think it is acceptable, and i don't want to be a jerk about it.
I even tips the techician $20

chinlam- did you have to pay for the alignment when you took it to wheel works yourself? I would think that you would have to go through a Nissan dealer to get warranty coverage.
But anyways, I contacted Magnussens Nissan and they told me they can do it in their own service shop. Im going there Monday and see if they hold true to their word.
Thanks for the info guys.

Ok, just visited Magnussens and was given a $105 diagnostic fee.
Was basically told that if I hit any pot holes or such that might of thrown off the oem alignment that my drifting to the right would not apply to the TSB. Which is not the case with me by the way.
I just didnt get the assurance that I wanted that it would be covered under warranty.
Because whos to say that they can just say "oh, this dent right here caused the alignment to change...blah blah" and be handed a $105 bill. So I said forget this...
Has anyone gone to Hayward Nissan? And hows there service?
Im finding a continuing trend with these Nissan dealers...and it aint good.

Try talking to Simon at Capitol Nissan about your drifting problem. If you're also having that tire roar problem when decelerating from 30mph to a dead stop, let him know about that as well. Tell him Marlon referred you, as he is building a case for this problem w/ the Zs. Call 408.978.1234 and have them direct your call to Simon in the Service Dept.

the service department at Magnussen Nissan pretty much SUCKS THE BIG ONE...
I think they have a small garage and won't let you look at their garage to see what exactly are they doing to your car...
I don't really understand it since Magnussen Mazda was nx door and i wonder thru the garage w/o problem. I even cked out one of the new RX8 while they were preping it.
The parts dept is pretty good, Mike and Nino is ok at the service dept, but they don't actually work on your car...
I had my oil changed their a few time, only took 3 hr.... for one oil change...
I also had some troble with my A/T shifter and the diagnostic people are abusolutely USELESS... they told me something is definitly broken in the steering column.... which was completely WRONG
ok... now that i need to get my window streak fixed.. i don't think i want Magnussen to touch my car anymore...

Went to Capitol today and got my alignment. I went in to see Simon like MGV156 mentioned but he was off duty so he pointed me towards another advisor, Anthony.
Good people there. I got my car serviced in about an hour even without an appointment.
Would recommend Capitol for their courteous and prompt service.

Rossel,
Did the alignment issue also solve the tire roar tsb? I actually haven't brought that to Simon's attention yet, but I'll refer to the work they did on your car.

I went around 11 AM LeMansZCa.
Marlon - The pull to the right is actually still there, no tire roar. They did not actually replace anything (I think the compression rod) like what the TSB mentions.
I just wanted to bring it in for the free alignment during the first year of ownership, since my one year is about a week away.
I wanted to see if the pull to right would be fixed with just an alignment, but I may bring it in again for the complete fix.
The alignment specs of my wheels were off though on both front and rear toe. One rear registered in at +5/32. All four were realigned to 1/32 for toe.
