Thunderhill Track Day, Friday 6/19 - need more Zs!
True. They still need to have the ***** to push it though. I'm getting more ballsy with this new toy, and my last day at T-hill in it was cut short, so we'll see how it goes.
From what I hear, the R35 gives u an artificial pair w/ massive acceleration in the straights and u can be as sloppy as you wanna be thru the turns.
I imagine that thing will fly exiting turns 14/15 into the long straight.
Anyone have a small pull behind 1 1/4" hitch trailer I could borrow?
The day was good, weather was great. Even got a little rain while we were packing up, which was nice. Hunpin (the organizer) said there were 70-75 cars, so <25 in each session, and LOTS of track time. I logged 180 track miles in four 30 minutes sessions and one 45 minute session. Then run a full cool down lap.
We tooled with my tire pressures through the first 4 sessions until we got it right (old Hoosier R5s), and the car was a blast. I have some pics and lots of vids I'll post up soon. I hadn't run with unlimited laps for awhile, but they I was impressed. With very few exceptions, people were mindful of their mirrors.
I still need to work on a fast entry into turn 1, but the times went down all day while we toyed with the pressures, but overall the car was balanced. Tire temps were about 15 degrees hotter on the INSIDE, and ran 175F max measured after the cool down lap. I destroyed a near-new set of Hawk Blue rear pads, but thankfully had back-ups. We were able to time a few clean laps, which inched down to 2:11s with a passenger. I was the only Z, but numerous people came over to see what was "done to the car". It was awesome.
The GT-R R35 never showed, although we saw it in downtown Willows, which was odd. There were 911s, LOTS of M3s, Evos, STIs - it was a pretty good showing of cars minus the Zs. I need to get my roll bar/harness bar installed with seat harnesses, and push the car a little more.
Good times.

CFRA is a small club of very deticated track hounds. Limited membership to 140 total members. Typical attendance is 75 to90 cars per event. Great group to race with. Yes we also have a race group with a rolling start.
