How do we join this event? Since this is safer than tracking the car, I am interested. Are all the driver PRO? I am new to autocross/track, so i want to start with something light.

Anyone can run - that will be obvious once you get there. There are some good drivers too, but there are always some hooligans that come out to play. As you may have picked up from this thread, there are specific times that you could run, though no one is required to run in a specific group if they aren't competing for the point series. You could go early in the am, as some of the other guys are going to do, or in the afternoon like I am going to do. I do suggest joining NorCal UFO (it's only $15/year, and it guarantees that you'll get a run card as a guest).

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I notice the inspection requires "Tight wheel bearing." If i am running wheel spacer, can I join? Or do I need to take off my wheels to show my spacer are tighten?

Did you guys all make it down? I saw a black and a white 350 leaving while we were having the afternoon driver's meeting. I think it was your crew, because I also saw the M3 and a few Civics.

I ran with 25MM spacers all around, they don't care.

Yesterday was a blast. Working for group 6 was like a workout with how many cones people were knocking over in that final slalom.

Scott, your driving lives up to that sig of yours! Atleast I didn't get sick!

Yup! That rev-up was SC'd, I told him he should come onto the board to chat about Zs. He said he was having problems putting the torque down.

Yup - spacers are no prob, I run them, too.

Yeah, that return portion slalom was cone-killing madness. And thanks (I think!) I'm glad you didn't get sick, too!

They are different. I have 03' test pipes if you want them from before I switched to the ART pipes from MotorDyne. I have them posted in our local FS thread, just come get 'em.

any automatic trans. cars? Do you have to have "skill" in order for them to give you a permission to drive?

When is the next event?

Any car that can pass tech (easy) can run. Manual or auto - doesn't matter. You don't need any specific "skill". Look at the widely variable results and types of cars here: http://www.norcalufo.org/main/index....d=35&Itemid=57

The next event is June 6th (except for the DeAnza autox coming up): http://www.norcalufo.org/main/index....d=34&Itemid=54

Is the Deanza event any difference? Competition event? I want to go for that one because the distance is so much closer.

Deanza is timed and the results are tallied, but it's not part of the NorCal UFO series. If you want to go, you better get registered ASAP, as they cap the number of cars. I'll be there.

Anyone can go to about 99% of the autocrosses you'll see around here, n00b or not. No one is pro. Just go sign up. . . like now.
