Norcal Track Days
ANYONE GONNA BE THERE TOMORROW?
What an awesome weekend at Laguna Seca with about 100 Porsches and only two lonely Z cars.
I chased around a beautiful Porsche GTS - just like in the picture - all weekend. Its 408hp / 310tq made me use all my trick braking to keep up. This is not, however, the fastest way around Laguna - driver and passenger were sore but otherwise ok.
Here you see a new, 2011, Porsche GTS, up on its lid after taking turn 4 a little too fast. There is plenty of run off room there, as it's a common place to make a mistake, but you need to keep the wheels straight and drive through the dirt rather than abruptly trying to save it and bouncing back onto the pavement (then across the pavement). I put a tire in the dirt there myself late yesterday, but made it out with just a little dust. That was also my fastest lap of the weekend on street tires.

I have tons of video and pictures, but wanted to get this up while it was still fresh.

I installed SS lines tonight and did a brake bleed, it only took 1 bottle of RBF600 fluid before it was filled up to the "max" line, I feel like 1 bottle isn't enough, any input?
EDIT: figured out the problems, lol.

That GTS made typical mistake at t4 by early apexing and then trying to save it. I have seen people crash there so many times it hurts. There was a GT3 cup car that crashed too.
RennSport in October is going to be best p car event west coast has seen in years but I'm spectating as carnage galore is expected with so many Laguna noobies.
I really want to drag the Nismo to a Laguna event as I know it's capable of around 1:40 lap times on that track. Would be fun to kick some p car butt.

besides the 23rd, ill probably be going to another 2-3 to end the season...TMR and team racing for t-hill and maybe infineon with TMR...
then hopefully by early next year, ill start taking a 370 out! *crosses fingers*

I'm always amazed at how much carnage happens at p car events. Money doesn't buy driving talent.

1:40 flat in the NISMO? Wow, that would be hauling. Are you talking capable or actual? Cuz I know my car is capable of a sub 1:40, just not by me!

There is some buzz about going to Sears Point in a few weeks with NASA. I will also go to Laguna with NCRC later this year.

to the GTS.
