Totally Agree! I guess that is probably the extra money to pay for someone who did the research and back their products.

Installation is simple, however, it involves removing bumper, drill holes on radiator support for mounting brackets and hoses.

It might be better to get a aftermarket bumper with bigger opening or the racing oil cooler (bigger).
This is what I'm looking at

How can you tell the difference between the "street" and "race" one?

HD is smaller, Competition is larger. Give GTM a call if you are not sure. They are very helpful.
Or you can talk to Rod @ Z Car Garage for his opinion.

I talked to rob a couple weeks ago, I think I'm gonna go to him a call when I'm ready to pull the trigger.

That one correct?

Hmm I wonder if the extra $150 or whatever is worth the differance?

I probably won't even get it until I start getting to the point where I notice my oil pressure lower then normal after track sessions.

Does anyone use an oil temp gauge? I'm thinking of getting one before I get an oil cooler to see what my temps actually get to, or of my oil is getting to hot. That, or getting a gauge at the same time I get a oil cooler.

Any input?

You should absolutely get a gauge, and follow it with an OC when you're ready (i.e. when you drive the car hard enough to require it).

Yeah I was thinking of getting this
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/tinted-7-color-oil-temperature-gauge.aspx

And getting a single gauge holder for the pillar

Or I really wanna put it in the cubby but don't know how to wire it from there.

When you get it, see if you can use the same signal from the pressure sensor.

I just bought a oil filter sandwich and gonna rig it up that way. What you just said might be easier though..if possible? (anyone know if that's possible?)

I don't think oil temp comes along with the pressure signal on the 350. The 370, yes, but I don't believe the 350's ECU reads oil temp, hence why you need to tap in or do the filter sammich.

I checked the datastream yesterday, no oil temp. Fuel temp is there if anyone wants it though.

I was confused yesterday, thinking oil and pressure used the same type of sensor to drive a different type of gauge. Isn't it a direct correlation between pressure and temp?
I think I need to give my ASE's back.

PV=nRT suggest it is a direct correlation, but I think you get a lot more temperature rise with only a minimal increase in readable pressure. Plus the oil pressure changes with g-forces.

Its a sad day for me. The car has been sold...

Just as I was getting a little better around the track! I had to start picking up the baby and needed rear seats. Thought of every option to make that work in the Z, but couldnt make it happen.

I'll still be on here to keep up with the track news. And I still plan to get on the track with the next car, even if its a sedan.
