By the way my Z changes personalities dramatically any where around 5k rpm--wow! I did not realize the headers & exhaust made that much difference. Take care all...not sure what's next--suspension or a lighter flywheel. I think I will go with some sort of suspension mod and eat my current clutch/flywheel first. Comments? see ya...

Welcome Rich! i went with the suspension. Walt

Welcome Rich! If you go by the Bay Area consensus, you'll have to go with some new rims next. Almost all the BA members that you'll meet at Z meets have nice rims...

Yeah, but the 17" are old man wheels...it makes my Z appear to be very mild mannered. Suspension is what I am thinking about. Take care, Rich

Watch it there Rich........i'm kind of sensitive about 17" wheels and my age Most people think I have 18's with the suspension I have. Love the suspension, made a tremendous difference in the car. I need to add the sways now.

Actually, what I meant is keeping my 17" wheels, and going with the suspension. B & G springs along with NISMO sway bars is what I was thinking. Then the 17" look like 18". I think I get more bang for my buck with the poor condition of the freeways out there. It is a shame. I have already seen a couple of Z's on flatbed tow trucks with either front left/right flat tires. I am not convinced on low profile wheels with these shameful freeways. And at the moment my Z looks very mild mannered.

They will look like 18's and the ride will be better if you get that setup. Once their up in the fender wells they look bigger. I race my Z, so I don't want to turn a whole lot of wheel/tire with all that extra weight etc.

The more I read about suspension, the trickier it gets. Sway bars, springs, lowering, tires, wheels, alignment, etc. I am going to study the situation before making any suspension changes. My style of driving is fast on the freeways and making the most out of on/off ramps...so, my mods may be somwhat limited. Then there is the flywheel, clutch issue, which I am leaning towards doing, but requires research on my part...not sure how the weight of a flywheel (JUN) is related to engine revving.

Bottom line is I am having lots of fun driving my very first Z and that is what counts. By the way, I am ready to get rid of the spare, putting some weight towards my advantage.

Where can I find details on the Feb 5th Event? rich, san jose, ca.

Wise decision to wait and make the right decision. There are numerous threads you could look up regarding this. I love my Nismo S suspension.

Hey guys...Bay Area noob here. My fiance and I just picked up a 2005 Touring Roadster. We live in Benicia, work in Fairfield, and head into SF and Napa a lot.

I'm starting off small on my mods. I got a stubby antenna, silver on black visor covers, Passport X50 with custom mirror mount, "Z Roadster" license plate frames, and custom plates that say "GEEKZ" (We're both technology consultants). In the next couple of weeks, I'm getting clear bra and a beefy alarm system.

These forums and the people here are wonderful. A wealth of information. Thank you all so much and we'll see you around the bay!
