350Z in City
Maybe I'm getting old but do any of you guys who live in the city of SF ever get tired of these potholes/uneven pavements? Had my car since Dec 2003; love it to death except the harsh ride and handling in the city is getting me to consider a trade in for 3 series bmw/mb clk. (70% of the time I drive in the city.) Last week I had my side fender just in front of my rear tire scratched inside a parking garage on narrow ramp. (BTW, any of you guys know of a good autobody show that repairs plastic fenders?) What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Yeah, The City is rough on my Z. If its not the potholes/uneven pavement as you pointed out, its the MUNI tracks, steep hills/driveways, small parking stalls (2 door dings), bad drivers (rear ended in April, Mission/1st Street); the list goes on and on...
Its the price we pay for living and/or working here. Only thing you can do is be extra careful when you drive!

Yeah, I concur about City roads... it's either that or the dang hills in SF. Some of the roads in Marin County are A LOT worse though, we're talking like 7" deep pot holes

Sorry, not sure about a recommended body shop at this point, but I'd try checking the unofficial automotive repair thread for some board member reco's

I drove my Z roadster in S.F. for the first time this past Sunday. I had to go pick up a friend who was visiting from Spain. He was staying in a hostel on one of those abscure little alley ways (Isadora Duncan Ln). I had a hell of a time finding it and wound up driving all over the City. Up and down some of the steepest hills I have ever seen burning my clutch and brakes so much that by the time I found my friend he even commented about the awful smell.
I used to live in the City many years ago but never had as much trouble on those hill with my BMW 325 (manual) as I had with the Z. I think I would burn out a clutch every 6 months or less if I had to drive those streets daily.
