I get home tomorrow, so I will see whats all in get a good guess when i will start the build. trying to get injectors and the sport harnes for EU before then.

EDIT:
Just looked at my build stage sheet. Just need 10psi pulley and I'll finish 1st phase.

The injectors are starting the second phase. It includes fuel retun system, injectors, fuel pump, level 5 axels, and maybe rear end.

Default Plan of Attack

downloaded the service manual for free. doing a little homework and plan of attack There will not be taking off things several times.

Looks like clutch/fly wheel, plugs/headers, tests,AF guage, exhaust, intake, SC, Boost, EU, JS. if I get the injectors before the build that will go after old intake comes off before new one goes on. What does every one think? Is the clutch/fly wheel pretty easy. Looks straight forward.

The SC is gonna be on saturday/sunday. giving it 2 days for plenty of time..

October I'll finish stage 2 easy. Got an anual bonus comming to me.
EDIT: just bought 650 injectors and Sport harnes

Default Lets get it started!

Tomorrow I'm putting in the clutch, headers, test pipes, and SES. went over all the install parts in the manual for about 5 hours tonight. I'm already studying every thing else so it will go smoothly. deliveries will determine whats next.

Redline you said you wanted to help out on the FI part to help get your power curve up? If it come in before next weekend I'll do it then.

Gonna try to get a base line dyno befor I start. Crossing the fingers, hopefuly tomorrow. Forgot to call and make apointment, just gonna get one run and talk with them about tuning wiyh EU.

So I was looking at my service manual just getting familiar with every thing and the steps and I notice somthing kinda funny one of my exhaust cams is missing a dowel pin for the sprocket. So I called Jime Wolf and accualy got Jim himself. Well after a 2 minute Q&A he came to the conclusion, "One of his guys screwed up and didn't put a dowel pin in"

So just as I was working towards doing doing the cams, a brick wall.

Good news is they are sending one out to me so next week I'll be ok.

They have great customer support, the phone didn't even ring 3 times.

Just got off the phone with Hypersport, I have an apointment for a 3 run base line at 3pm today. I'll post the results, and try to get some video and pics.

So needless to say my install planned for today will wait till tomorrow.

Default Weird

Ok just got back from Hypersport. Got a good baseline but realy odd.

223.5 WHP 257.6WTQ.

How in the hell is that possible? the TQ was flat with a slight slop towards the end then rises quickely to 257.6. One thing that threw off the results alittle. The guy in the seat never dynoed a Z before. My shift light was set to 5500 so at that point he let off the throttle thinking it was a bad light.
I didn't notice it until I was looking at the results.

The peak at 257.6 was not realy an anomoly. between each run the readjusted the clips to get diffrent readings to see where the best continuity. Always at the top end was that peak of TQ.

Got the dyno graph in the car, too lazy to go back down and get it. Took picks of the set up of the dyno and vids of all the runs. so let me figure how to put them on.

Soon I'll do a gheto scan and post the dyno on the page.

ooooh...nice pile of goodies in your "warehouse"!!! I've never posted a video on here before, but I believe you'd have to upload it to a hosting site like streetfire.net and then post the hyperlink. can't wait to see it.

like the title says...

You can cleary see were the guy in the seat let off the throttle, before 5500 the gas was let up.

EDIT: I will start my installs tomorrow morning arround 7 so at the Hickam hobby shop. So if any one wants stop by I'll put you to work. Im bringing the cams just incase I feal stupid enough to do those too. I think I should be able to pop out one of the existing cams dowel pin.

If not ahh what ever i'll get something done.

So yeah first day was a pain in the ***. Had to wait for most of the 1/2" drives and air tools. Once I finaly got all the bolt out of the tranny, went to pull it and it wouldn't move. Tried shaking it, rocking it rotating it, pulling. Basicly every thing short of peating the p!ss out of it. 2.5 hours I dicked with it and said screw it, I'll try tomorrow.

Actualy at that point it was 2pm and I couldn't hold my arms up any more. They had said I was able to do the work on a lift but when I got there I was told I had to use a stall. Sucks ****! so I went to pulling the heads. I got as far as the right bank heter hoses removed and the said we had to stop and clean up. They friggin close at 4pm on the weekends. Every other hobby shop I've been too stayed open until 8pm on weekends.

The only real thing I got accomplished today 100% was removing the pre cat and cats, and moving the O2 sensors to the test pipes. every thing else was left in shambles.

So here's how she was left, techinaly the exhaust, cams and fly wheel are IN the car. But not how I was wanting them to be.
Notice the distinck lack of tranny on the lower portion. That jack you see in the rear pic is holding up the unbolted tranny.

BTW AEM Wide band A/F guage came in today. It has a lamda cable with it so I can hook it up to EU... YEAH I did a good thing.

Bad thing though, all my Defi guages I bought need the link unit, so I guess all my other guages will be Defi. More than likely fuel pressure and EGT for both banks.

wow...sound like a major pain the the @$$...but I'm sure it'll be well worth it in the end. I'd offer to help, but honestly I'd just be watching since I'd be of very little help with a project of this level. plus I'm swamped at work. but good luck and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Not a problem.

You know your obseddes with a project when you start dreaming of it. Last night I fell asleep researching what could be wrong. I started dreaming abuot pulling that dam tranny. The on thing that realy cought my attention was this.

get enging hoist to tilt engine up a little in the front, basicly to balance it. It seemed to have a tendancey to want to pull forward a little. That couplede with the tranny pulling down and back would be putting an as load of pressure on the spline. bolt the tranny to the trany jack and slowly rock back. I've had to do this once before with chevy 350.

I'll see if it works here.

I'll be off to start on this again in half an hour.

Accualy I did have a tranny lift it ran me over and dumped tranny oil on me. Any ways, I'm finnished got avery thing put in put back together and put on the ground.

I did what try the whole jack thing but I dropped part of the sub frame to let the tranny drop more. The spline was binding like I thought. I had to sake the tranny like I was the baby sitter. It finally came off though. It had its revenge. The jack plate got unbalanced when I was shaking it and the tranny tited WAY back.

Yeah, did you know if our trany is tilted on a 20 degree decline it will loose all of the thans oil in 10 seconds. Yeah I do now. I poured all over my chest and neck. Shirt and skin soaked. Let me tell ya, thats the closest I ever want to come to being a female **** star. I feal dirty, blisters on my knees and hips from rolling arround on them for close to 10 hours. Neck hurts from lifting my head up for 10 hours. Every cut has grease in it. But you know what I'd do it agian in a heart beat.

Why because I did it. I appreciate all the offers. But it weams like something wanted me to do this on my own. It feals great to building race cars again.

This isn't my first import racer. But it is the first complet build. All the others were easy engine swaps. Like a 200sx I had, swaped a Sunny GTi-R SR20DET into. Most of my background is Chevy V8 camero's.

but I digress, Forgot the memory card so I wasn't able to tak any photos so... I'll just trow some pics up for your viewing pleasure.
