Exclamation F-N-A My Sponorship Results!!

Here we go:

"08-28-2005

Congratulations Michael, We are pleased to inform you that two
national automotive companies have picked you up for sponsorship for the
upcoming 2005-2006 car show season. The amount and the details of the
sponsorships are being negotiated and finalized with the company at this time
by our staff on your behalf. In the meantime, please gather any photos
of your vehicle as sponsors may require those at some point during the
sponsorship period for possible before/after press releases."

And here's the money shot

"Also, because your application meets one or more of our guidelines, our
Advanced Placement Department (APD) is interested in your
qualifications. They are currently reviewing your application and will be working to
get you an additional sponsorship. APD uses strict standards to place
qualified applicants and many times they are able to get additional
sponsorships.

Although we are always here to help you build a relationship with your
sponsors, ultimately, it is your responsibility to contact them and
keep them informed on your progress and events that you attend.

In addition to the sponsorship above, APD would like to give you an
opportunity to get another sponsorship. Let’s see how you do:

Hi Michael, my name is Amy Chase from the Advanced Placement Department
of *********. If you are going to be entering your car into
any of the Hot Import Nights Car Shows please contact me AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE. We have immediate but limited full sponsorship openings ($7,000+)
for your vehicle. Unfortunately, APD can’t award this sponsorship to
you based solely on your online application because our sponsors rely on
us to find and screen all applicants completely to insure that they can
fulfill their obligations. We know you have good intentions, and that’s
why we are giving you this opportunity, but we need to hear from you
and feel confident that you will follow through with this sponsorship
commitment. This sponsorship package for the 2005 H.I.N. show venue will
include tires from Dunlop, full suspension from B&G Suspension, rims
from Raveann.com Wheels, lighting from StreetFX, bulbs from VisionBulbs,
free subscriptions from Performance Auto & Sound Magazine and many other
products from our partners."

I left out the company I went through because I don't know the advertising rules. So if I get the HIN sponsorship I may "accidentaly" let the company slip in a temporary laps of sanity.

All this is based on my product purchases. I need to get before/after photo's and Dyno's. Now I realy gotta dig to see whats legal to put on my car. Dambit home work.

Showstoppertk thanks again for the info, it will come in so much help now. I got this email after I posted my recon thread.

Talking

There is a HIN comming 17 December. Hell yeah I qualify for the HIN package at least on my end.

The beauty about all this All I have to do is attend 1 car show to keep the products; Car cruises and gatherings count too; and so does a night at the track.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it. I friggin get to keep the products for doing what I normaly do.

didn't mean to burst your bubble...or should i say put out your pipe

edit: ouch...i really hope you didn't go through carsponsorships.com since i noticed the $89 fee for acct set-up

Yeah it is that site. How ever I used it on the recomendations of 2 close friends that I've known for 6 years. They race Autocross and they both have gotten multiple sponsorships.

The one guy that convinced me is an overly cautious person who is always leary about scams; the kind that doesn't like to use the buy one get another half off because to get the deal you have to spend more money. He hasn't been happier with his sponsors. He's got: free tires/ mounting and balancing ; free suspension, free full exhaust, detailing products and Synthetic oil. All for as long as he races. The biggest problem people have is they have either A) not filled there sponsor responcibilities and /or B)broke the sponsorship contract completely.

The way this thing works its not realy negotiated through the original sponsors. They have all the packets and produck before hand released by the company and they have all of them. They process your package and send the people they want the packages and release your name to the company as a chosen sponsor. The numbers gaim is they have to get rid of all the packages in a years time frame; if not they have to buy them. Same rules for us. If we don't fulfill our end we have to buy the products. Normal for all sponsorships.

A processing fee is not uncommon for sponsorship agencies. When I had a SE-R Spec V I applied for a sponsorship through there and declined to pay the fee so I lost them.

I got picked up for 2 so far,I think they are Dunlop and Raveann Wheels and they are negotiating 2 more. Don't quote me on that its 134am. All seem's legit so far.

As the saying goes nothing in life is truley free. It's all on how far you are willing to go. If they are willing to pay me, I'm willing to sport their sticker for the obligatory contract period. Once all deals are made and responsibilities are fulfilled those ugly thing are comming off.

After reading all the threads you posted some seem to forget. You ARE going through a 3rd party to get a sponsorship. They are doing the foot work and hard stuff. So naturaly there is a processing fee. Shure you can get some for free, but your chances are slim.

Second if they read closely your only charged if you get a sponsorship of $500 or more. The % deal don't count as a hard dollar count because it's open ended. Hypotheticly you have a 1 Billion dollar sponsor ship if thats true and your bill gates.

I'll post more on the experience and what problems or benifits I have. Hopefuly this will settle some nerves. I'm pressing on happily . If things go bad then I guess all I did is take one for the team. Hopefuly not the case though.

Raveann wheels. If you get more info on them, can you let me know? I know they make SSR SP-1 replicas, but their website doesnt work.

Good luck on the sponsorship.

Good luck! Unfortunately, we will be moving to Hawaii two weeks after your car is in HIN, so we won't get to see it. Look forward to meeting some fellow Z owners when we get there though!

in hawaii i think pretty much all the stuff on your list is legal except maybe the neons, if thats what the car lighting sponsorship is for. i think if its red or blue you can't run em while driving. not too sure though.

I was just there on vacation I know several cops down there at Patrick. I lived down there for almost 6 years till my house got destroyed last year by hurricanes.

I got word that some one was moving here with 2 Z's from pat. So I took a wild guess.

Take plenty of picks of your cars and doccument realy well. there was a small roock chip that was marked on mine. They ended up nosing it into the carrier made a huge chip in the same location. They refused to pey it and said it was marked.

Any way let me be the first to say welcome to Hawaii. You'll like it here.

Wink alternate sponsor

I guess I would then be sponsored by united milage plus platinum. I saved all the money, put it on my milage card to get 28,000 milage points then, will pay it off in 2 months. If I pay it off in one I don't get the 17,000 bonous first purchase miles.

135,000 point to date. 100,000 accual miles since Febuary. Currently sitting in Singapore. A ***** Nelson song comes to mind, "On The Road Again"
