Default Custom Trunk Question. ATTN Dwayne and Brandon

Hey Guys,
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay to get ur sounds put in your trunk? I'm doing a custom sub floor at security and sounds and boy is it costing more than I thought it would. I'm not even doing anything crazy either, theyre just fiberglassing the floor and then raising the trunk up a couple inches so the sub clears and then putting a metal grill over it and the amp so I can still stick my golf clubs in the back.
They quoted me like 2200 and thats just the labor, i provided my own sub and amp. Where'd you guys go? I love the work S & S does and trust them more than anyone to do my work but man thats more than I thought it would be.
Anyone else feel free to chime in I only mentioned them specifically because I know they have custom trunks. Also if you guys don't feel comfortable posting what you paid but wouldn't mind PMing me about it I'll be sure to keep that info to myself.
Thx,
Jamie

The floor is gonna be wooden, theyre just fiberglassing the bottom of the spare tire well since it's uneven.

in my suby i did a custom set up for my JL at the time...i did mine at cartunes in kailua, small hidden place, but has been in business since the 80s (rather impressive for a specialized business). but the owner richie, very cool and professional. sorry i dont have pics of it, b/c i wanted the box more for sound quality and space, as compared to show purpose.
the box that held the sub was fiberglass, and the rest of the pieces were wood to raise the floor. i told richie (owner) that i wanted to cover the sub so i could still use the trunk, and needed the piece covering the sub to be strong enough to hold up a bag of golf clubs.
grand total with parts and labor was around 1100, but then a subys trunk is prob easier to do rather than the Z.

well, i did a full custom job with extreme audio. so the trunk, behind the seats, door panels, center console and roof cost me approx $15,000 just for material and labor. the sounds itself (including screens) cost me an additional $3000.

now, depending on what kind of sounds you are running, i can talk to the owner and ask him for a quote.

my opinion, i like s&s, kents brother (myron) is a friend of mine from iclub. and kent is a good guy all around. although they may be asking a high price tag, rest assured that they do quality work. its becoming rare to find honest and reputable shops.
