Digital Camera Experts: Need advice
I hate to do these what should I get threads but I need advice on a specific digital camera.
They are only 50 dollars different. The newer model has more optical zoom but is it worth it.
Kodak V570:

Thanks guys. the reviews were helpful. Would you say the V610 is the same camera as the V570 except with more zoom power and other extras?
Or the V570 is for wide angle shots and the V610 is for more zooming shots?

V610
dual lens technology; 10X optical zoom
38–114 mm (35 mm equiv.) f/3.9–f/4.4
130–380 mm (35 mm equiv.) f/4.8
V570
23 mm–fixed (35 mm equiv.) f/2.8
39–117 mm (35 mm equiv.) f/3.9–f/4.4
In a point-and-shoot camera, I don't think the 15mm and f/2.8 is a huge advantage. On the long end, you get over triple the reach with the V610. You also get bluetooth and the extra 1.1MP, if that matters. The 570 does have the pano stitch mode, but that can be done in PS.

The smaller the mm number, the wider field of view. think of it as a variable power telescope. on 1x, you can see a lot but nothing is magnafied. the higher the power(zoom), the closer you get to an object but you lose the field of view. hope this helps.

ahh...thanks man. I was really confused about that part. Really appreciated it. I decided to get the V610 yesterday. Going to take pics of the car soon with the new mods.

Returning the kodak and going to get a canon sd700.
the quality of the Kodak was good in the day but at when there was no natural light out, the lcd and image was just not worth the money.
the looks and feel of it was really nice, but quality of image wasn't. just dissapointed with it.

hey guys, I went and got the SD700! I should have went with Canon in the first place. It was a tough decision between this and the SD630. but the image stabilizer thing sold me. Tried moving my hand around and catch pics and it came out clear as can be...would of love it more if the screen was as big as the SD630.
I had the canon s400 and the quality of pics was 10x better than crappy Kodak V610.
