forget the camera we want more of the chicas!! unless you have to have this camera to take more pics of those two.

in that case, check out the kodak z710. fairly reasonable price and takes FANTASTIC pictures. 7.1 megapixil and of course all the other options of cameras.

Don't mean to thread hijack but I love my camera... the flash just is not sufficiant for me anymore. I currently have an Exilim 7.1 megapixel (forget the model #).

So... I want a point and shoot that takes the same quality pictures that my camera does now with a much better flash. Suggestions? Or am I going to have to look beyond point and shoots?

the kodak Z710 once again takes absolutely incredible pics. However if you are into night pictures or darker scenery, may want some other sort of flash capabilities. Not sure the Z710 would be sufficient from any more distance of say maybe 15-17ft.

I'm not certain on the highest, but I know there are 10 megapixel cameras out there these days (my wife has one). Gets pricey quick, though -- probably not what you're looking for if you're just snapping chicas

Don't get the one with the highest megapixels neccessarily, get one with the best optical sensor. No point of having high pixels if the picture looks like shat.

I'm not sure on the highest but they're are ones above 30 megapixels but they run tens of thousands of dollars and there's a waiting list for the right to buy them. In the reasonable price range you can pick up a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II with 17 megapixels for around $8000 for the body alone. Add another few thousand for the flash kit and prime lens.

I'd figure someone looking for the highest possible pixel count would know this sort of stuff.

If you're only printing 24" x 36" prints anything above 6 Mp will work just fine. If you limit yourself to 11 x 17" you can get by with 3 Mp.

The highest I've seen at Best Buy, and Circuit City, are 7.2 Megapixels.

^good to know Paul. I found a nice Samsung 5.0 digital camcorder/camera for $349 that I'm considering. I may get this one and see what kind of pics it takes. If they arent great quality I'll request a better one for my birthday in 3 weeks. heh

agreed. Get a D70, theyre cheap on ebay now and still a fantastic camera. You'd have to be pretty good to want more features than are offered on that cam and the 6.1 MP might seem low, but is more about optics. I rpint 20 x 30 inch prints no problem.

More megapixels does not a better camera make. But it will give you less storage space.
