they all look comparable to me, really between the a720 and sd750 id prefer the sd750 for its size and looks given that they are similiar in quality, if there's a big difference in quality ill go for the better one.
as for the sx1000 i like it but again the shape/size isnt most convenient so for me to go for that size and price it would have to be a whole lot better than the other two.
im asking for help cus its not much more than a guessing game to me right now. (dont understand alot of the specs)

Phil gives fair, accurate, and unbiased reviews of the more capable and popular cameras. These reviews have never let me down yet. The smaller ELPH's are always a compromise to get everything into that small size - I've had two or three of them dating back to the 100, 110 and 200 models and they've been nice little snap shot cameras. As you get to a larger camera like the sx1000 you start to add a better quality lens.
Cameras are just housings for the lens - the lens only function is to gather the light - so a bigger camera supports a better lens allowing more controls over the process. If you're looking for simple snap shots then the first two cameras are likely as good as anything. If you're looking to become skilled with the instrument and learn to make better pictures (as opposed to simply taking a better picture) then you'll want the larger DSLR-like or DSLR cameras.

If you want a very versatile Canon look at the Powershot S5 IS.

saw that one, im looking for a cheaper price and better ease of use. i can handle the ones ive shown due to auto features and not having to change things around, something like the g9 seems too complicated for me and my uses.

edit: i wont grow out of anything even the simplest design. i simply dont have time to get into photography like some do.
I love my sd700is! If you like to do low-light shots, the image stabilization feature is a big plus. This model has been superceded by the sd850is, I believe. The tiny size of the Elphs make them excellent pocket cameras. Here's a site that has them for around $245 shipped:
