These are a few HDR's i've done. Thought i'd contribute a few of my favorites from a shoot i did of a local guy's car. I used Photomatix Pro and CS2 for the processing

Tried this a long time ago with single RAW or Jpg or Tiff file. Does not work as good as muliple exposures, but works pretty well non the less.

The secret is to HDR your HDR!

that would look pretty sweet if it was level and the car wasnt in it.

i like the way it pulled the broom strokes out of the concrete.

i dont understand the fascination with off angle shots... ive never seen a good one.

it's awesome, my wife agrees. we have been looking for a red colored painting or portrait for our living room. I would love this exact picture blown up to poster size. Any idea how I can go about doing that? Or is the phone in small megapixel so it can't be blow up?

i really like the second shot alot. i like the colors and the subject, the lighting is really nice in that one. that is my favorite of the group.

the others, i really like the coloring, not so much the subject. the last two are really nice i think, i like the way the floors look. the only thing i really dont like about them is the main subject, like i said. but thats my oppinion, and fwiw they are pretty good live action shots

i dont really think the subjects are neccisarily bad, its just not my favorite type of photography.

it is pretty rare that i shoot photos of people, but when i do it is typicaly candid shots like you took. i still really like that second shot of the guy with his hand out, and the blue light on the guy in the background. that one looks like it could be an album cover, or some artwork in a studio or music store.

i can imagine it was really hard to carry your camera around in there lol. i dont think i would have had the courage to walk in there with my camera. i feel like an out of place tourist as it is just walking around my neighborhood with the camera lol.

Nice photos. Some things I've noticed with my limited experience with HDR photography:

- Some shots and lighting just look a lot better than others in HDR.
- Some shots and lighting look more subtle and some give a more "HDR" look.
- The more exposures you use, the better (I love how 7 exposures look).
- Always shoot in RAW.

I've set my camera to do bracketing, but I'm not even sure how necessary it is with RAW photography. I actually did a shot with bracketing (-2, 0, +2), and decided to go with 7 exposures. So, I just made +1 and -1 exposures with the original 0 RAW image, and -3 and +3 exposures from the orginal +-2's. It worked out well, but I'm not sure if it's more "accurate" to just use a single RAW, or to take at least a few bracketed exposures in RAW.

Anyway, I plan to go out tonight at sunset and take some shots. It seems to me that high contrast lighting works best for the HDR "look" and I can't think of a better time of day.

imo, i'd MUCH rather take one shot in raw, than 3 in bracketing. When I shoot with HDR in mind (or process to make a HDR), i open up the RAW in lightroom, and edit it so I have 5 images, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, and open them up in photomatix. when you shoot bracket, there is NO guarantee that the images are perfectly aligned and centered, which can totally F- up the HDR.

just my .02 cents.

if you have a properly set up tripod you can eliminate 98% of the possibility of images not being aligned between the shots.
