I just bought a rebel xt, I really like to know how to take a pix of water or a stream, so that it looks like mist, or moving. What do i need to set my camera on and how do i need to take it, thanks

Tripod, set the camera to Tv, you want at minimum 1/4 second. Then try progressively longer exposures (time) to exaggerate the misting/blurring effect of the water.

What will be tough is if you have wind blowing the surrounding foliage. It'll also blur with the extended exposure time.

If you can, take two exposures. One long one like how I mentioned, and a normal one that takes a faster shot... about 1/80... depending on what your aperture allows.

Then combine the still foliage from the fast exposure, to the misty/blurred water slow exposure.

Just got back into photography after a 15 year absense. Boy, a lot has changed. A few tentative steps into a whole new world:

well, I finally decided to make the time and I bought the Canon Rebel XTi a few weeks ago. I thought I was doing pretty good until I see the pics people have posted in here. I've never done photography before and I'm having a blast! Here are a couple from the past 2 weekends. I have so much to learn

Gator Nationals this weekend..not the best place to practice haha
