Well, lately ive been doing a lot of hobby photography.
Ive shot cars, both moving and still, and ive also shot shows of local bands. A lot of my friends like my photography and theyve been talking about some of the stuff ive put on facebook.

Haha, so anyway, the other day, some girl called me and asked me if i could do a shoot for her. Apparently shes a model, and is looking for some photos for her portfolio.



Except there is one problem, i have no idea how to do it. All i have is a sony alpha 100 dslr, a tripod, and a unipod. I don't have any flash guns or any other lighting equipment. I don't know how to do backdrops or what a good backdrop looks like.

Does anyone have any suggestions? any places i can get some good info?

(the least i will get out of this is a girl posing in hawt positions haha id just rather not embarrass myself)

 

Learn to pose her, so she doesn't look like she was shot in a JC-Penny catalog.

Just look at a bunch of model pictures and ****, once she gets there, setup a video camera and leave it on a tripod facing her, then ask her a bunch of questions about her life, like her first boyfriend, then how old when she first did it, then ask her what she likes done to her, make sure you get this all on the video camera, then once she gets naked take a bunch of pictures, try to get some good close ups, and ask her to spread her goods.

Once everything is done, post her pictures and the video here.

Best part is, if you don't charge her for the photos, you wont have to worry about her coming after you with rape charges.

P.S read as much as you can about indoor lighting (if you're shooting in doors) that will end up having the biggest effect on everything. Also plan out your back drops.

I had a girl ask me to do the same once. I told her I only had a point and shoot,lol!

 

look at clothing catalogs for poses.
you'll need some light diffusers or some crap like that.
worse comes to worse, shoot her photos outdoors or in a very well lit area and use some nice ps plugins like "Portraiture" to get the desired effect.

You guys are ridiculus. She needs about three different outfits and a professional makeup job. You can shoot outdoors in the shade (north side of your house for instance.) Go buy the biggest sheet of white foam core board you can find and use that as a reflector to fill shadows (an assistant will help). Or use a north facing window with the reflector fill for the shadows. Posing is definitely a learned art - but look at some CLASSY head shots and such on the internet.

And don't pay any attention to the goofballs on here... LOL

If your over your head then Man - Up and tell her she'd be better off to find a Professional that would be able to deliver the goods.

Unless she just wants a good Bangin' then what the Hell.

Go for it.

 

Or just don't charge her and do it for fun and to add to your portfolio, if the pictures turn out bad, so what, no loss on either persons part.

don't worry about not having any flashes, go outside and use natural light, it works wonderfully. Just do your best and i'm sure it'll come out just fine, i had a friend ask me to do that same last summer. Here is 1 of the shots, no flash, all natural light:
