it kind of reminds me of the old advan SA3, but i don't think it looks right any more. Maybe on the old school AE86/85, maybe the s13, but not on a Z

 

That is a significantly different wheel. It is lightweight and original.

These rims in question are knockoffs and completely red lips ... tacky to look at after the initial wow factor.

That said, those Rays wheels are ugly ... just because they are made by and exclusive company does not make them in style or non-rice. That style of wheel typically belongs on the track .... it looks silly on the street.

 

Perhaps it's original for cars but I figured they got the from bikes:

My point isn't the fact that Rays makes a wheel like this, it's more to the fact that people use the term "rice" like it has some sort of universal meaning. When what it really means for most folks is that they don't personally like the way something looks.

Lol hmmm I can try to guess who it is... Hey Alex, I got in touch with the wheel shop you reccomended. I'm thinking of having them replicate this new Volk matte finish on my Gunmetal TE's sans the red stripe. Could end up looking pretty crazy (as in aggressive)
