only 400tq on a sc?
why is the peak tq number so important?

there's really fast cars out there that don't have a huge peak tq number
I hear the porche carrera GT is kinda fast, yet only has a measly 435 torque at the crank - which is like 375 tq at the wheels. Well I suppose if that's slow, then I'm fine with it

my vortech is making ballpark 365tq at the wheels with the stock blower, surely a T-trim blower with 3-4 more lbs of boost and 21% more natural torque from liters would be a bit more than 400tq
I'm calculating that my setup would be in the ballpark of 550whp and 460-480tq with this kit and a T-trim blower, i dunno maybe that's still too slow for most people who scoff at anything less than 600whp

same reason a NA guy would - more natural power. Considering it's a fully built bored out darton bottom end, it's not all that much more - like $1100-1500 more than a normal bored out 3.8 liter darton built bottom end.

I feel bad for all the guys who've already spent the big bucks building up their engine who now want this

Bada** Sam! When I start building a sleeved shortblock for our DSport G3 this will be the answer.

P.S. Please call me when you have a chance, I need an update on the car so I can figure out our track schedule.

Derek,

everyone who gets this kit will actually be running less boost for the same amount of power right?

like say someone has 9:1 compression ratio running 15 psi on a built 3.5 liter engine

with this engine they'd put down the same power - well more actually because of the stroke and bore, but their boost gauge would show something more like 12-13psi instead of 15

that means less internal stress on the engine, but more friction on the crankshaft because of the stroke

Keep up the great work. I'm expecting great things to come out of your shop in the future. Great intro.

Has anyone actually made an engine work using this kit? What does it take to get it working? Which EMS? I can't help but notice the lack of details about results NA or FI. Even the web site is "coming soon".

The description above says, "Achieving reliability that is required in street-driven cars at extreme performance levels...". How many miles do you have on how many engines to prove that reliability?

I don't mean to give you a hard time but these are reasonable questions for a $9000 product.

This setup is the ****, plain and simple. Fcon or complete standalone is what you will need in terms of EMS.

If and when my motor gives out(and I come across the dough), we will be in contact for one of these setup.

It will take some time before some serious engines are on the streets...just like any new product. Someone that is spending the money to install a stroker kit on a forced induction car, should strongly consider the FCON.

Of course, in theory, you could use this stroker kit with the stock ECU, but I dont think anyone would even consider it.

So am I right in thinking that the 4.2L kit is running $8900 for a built setup direct from GTM with sleeves, 1/2" headstuds, crank, pistons, rods, all built and ready to ship? If so, then it's an amazing price...

Compression at 8.5-9.0 could net a twin setup some SERIOUS power

then you need heads and cams to put in/on. and I would think there is a core charge on the block on top of that pricing

The description says $8900 for a fully assembled short block but then it also says both the head and block are machined for 12mm head studs which implies a long block. If $8900 is for a fully assembled 4.2L long block, then that's a deal of the century.

What rod lengths are you using for the different cranks?

GTM or Sharif, please explain the details of the setup.
