Most likely .. yes

We have a local guy that told me that he could get me a good deal on a Motec .. but I'm still looking around ... And Simon .. I guess is the best, hands down

Any thoughts?

AZ:

sorry to hijack this a bit... but yes... I think Nizpro is the best with motec since they have pleny of experiences with motec computer and there is always a motec guy there at their workshop most of the time doing engine dynos/tunings/testings (yes, in nizpro's facility, they have an engine dyno room in there) and guess what?! MoTeC headquarter (also the development centre) is only 3-5 mins away from Nizpro too...

IIQuickSilverII:

ZU L8R is correct (Thanks)... yes... I have a fully built N/A VQ35 to go 8200rpm everyday and I think this mod will definitely help the engine even more. Currently I am using 05 lower plenum and the peak power of my engine is at around 7400rpm or so

Hopefully the Cosworth plenum does not alter the way it idles... else we are gonna have a hard time to tune the idle again since it is perfect with those wild cams that I am using now

cheers,

richie

Right. In my case it will just require a newly fabricated cold side intercooler pipe with a BoV flange welded in and somewhere to bolt in the MAF housing (if it is even used at that point).

Even with all those custom pieces i believe you'd need to drop your motor in order for the TB to clear both the timing cover and the hood. I suggested(similar design to TS) this to turbotim when he released news of his intake manifold in the beginning of the year but there would be WAY to much work just to accommodate enough space for the manifold. But if you can pull it off more power to you, and I'd be second in line to whoever built it for you.

I dunno, I'm kinda partial to SFR's symmetrical setup. It looks a lot better, IMO.

<-------- No Turbo = No Problem.

I do see your point though.

That really wouldn't be TOO difficult. All it takes is finding the right shop. I'd be willing to do it if I had a well designed manifold to work with.

We saw it at PRI and talked with the Cosworth guys at length on it. Word is that it's in its final form and will include the carbon fiber end caps on the production model which allow for the runners to be honed/modified to the tuner's liking. They played around with various volume manifolds and the current one seemed to provide the best universal gains. They also had a good amount of technical documentation on hand that looked FAIRLY complicated.

Chimmike was taking some pics for modified.com and got some nice photos of it. I'm not sure what happened with them...

We were told by the cosworth guys that it should be out late 1st quarter 2007.

That's it!

I wonder how well the end caps will hold to high boost

I asked the same question. We're not talking about cheap, thin carbon fiber. The stuff is really thick and very strong! The manifold was designed with high boost applications in mind as well and I was assured that they're more than capable of handling the stress of boost.

They tested it to 30psi pressure. April 2007 is the latest I have heard.
