Default ProEFI Release Date and Pricing!

We are pleased to announce the pricing of the ProEFI EMS for the 350z. Another Engine Management option for the VQ Platform! There is another thread that discusses the ProEFI, however wanted to start a thread that focused on the pricing.

Here is the other thread in regards to functionality
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/300664-new-ems-for-350z.html

There will be 2 version of the ProEFI

-Level I works like the AEM, or FCON in that it piggybacks the factory ecu
and will not control DBW.

-Level II unit will control EVERYTHING. (This unit is not set to be released
until early 08.

Price for Level I ProEFI
$2,250

Includes:
ProEFI Computer
MAP Sensor (3.5, 5, or 7bar)
Wideband O2 Sensor with Gauge
Wire harness to jump from the factory ECU to the ProEFI unit.

This unit has adaptive capbilities, meaning that it learns and adjusts on the fly. We're very excited about this and look forward to supporting the 350z aftermarket with it.

Units will be shipping within approx 2 weeks.

Post any questions here in the thread or feel free to email Larry and I at
sales@spracingonline.com

Thanks
Chris

Will the tuning software be real close to the AEM ? And will anyone that can tune the AEM be able to pick this up real easy ?

If you look at the features, it is adaptive in fuel, knock, idle, boost control, and probably a few other things. Doesn't look like there will be anything for you to tune! Which is awesome. It's like a new factory car... it adapts, and is always running properly. Can't get any better than that!

Pricing for Level II is not released yet. We'll post when we work through the numbers with Jason.

Update for the day.

Here is the 2 1/8" Can Gauge offered along with the Package for an additional $299.
There will also be a 4" version, no pricing yet on this.

This gauge is slim and has some amazing functionality. The gauge will allow you to make small tuning changes, change boost level, launch rpm, antilag, and similar settings.

So having a AEM UEGO is pretty much a waste of time with this unit?

you can use it as an alternate display of your boost levels, but not to control boost...you can keep any other gauges you have

I think you meant A/F

The AEM uego would be nice to suppliment this gauge if you wanted to watch other variables, but to answer your question, yes, this will also display a/f.

Chris

dohhh (to myself)

lol.... yes... but still same comment applies i guess...keeping what ever gauges someone has is nice cuase it makes it easier to see the boost and a/F parameters...and what ever other parameters a person has gauges for..at the same time

BUt i guess once could just get the 4" display and replace all the other ones. IT surely is a nice option

Or the pioneer avic d2. This would be a great feature something similar to the f-con IS.

This system seems to be very promising, If I am understand this correctly, the unit will be plug and play, and basically tune itself off a base map that is preprogrammed into the unit, with built in wideband controller and knock detection? That is pretty trick stuff, what kind of wideband controller will you guys be using?

Also I am very interested in what method/type of knock detection is being utilized! Glad to see more EMS options becoming available for our platform!

P.S. Please correct me if what I am understanding is wrong.

+1 We need a comparo explanation of the different units. So many choices now. Haltech and this one look like good choices with the vpro.

The level one unit will use an external wideband controller of your choice. The level 2 unit has dual internal controllers and will use either NTK or bosch wide band sensors.

Because this is an OEM type computer, it utilizes stock type knock detection. The computer looks for a certain frequency on the sensor computed by the bore size of the engine.

Why would you even use this when UpRev can reprogram the stock ecu with cam control? It works fine, i have had it for months. Using volumetric efficancy can be done with a megasquirt and use the stock ecu for the cams its nothing new. I am not trying to flame you but the stock ecu does a damn good job of cam control and reads the factory wideband O2 sensors. BTW using a non stock knock sensor is useless since you wont know the exact harmonics that nissan specced... If there is a way to get the specs of a knock sensor using some sort of tool i would like to know because I have never been able to figure it out.
