Talking MRC Motorsports: Presents Rome wasnt built in a day...

And neither was Rome's car. We finally finished his build and install. Rome wanted to safely boost a Greddy kit, but did not want big numbers. He wanted a nice daily driver with piece of mind and a strong, smooth powerband. He opted to go with the following:
Greddy TT
GTM sleeved motor
GTM Cams
GTM stage 1 heads
Fcon V-pro
HKS Knock Amp
HKS EVC
Clutchmasters Stage 4 clutch
Alot of other bells and whistles I cant remember.

We initially had some tuning issues due to a faulty flywheel/crank trigger, but finally got Rome boosted and ready to roll. The final tune was done at 12PSI, and the car made about 440whp with similar TQ. The car drives really nice and pulls pretty good to redline. We wanted to make more power but he pu$$ied out, saying he just wants to beat stock EVO's...
Perhaps down the road we can talk him into more power and a retune.

Congrats on the numbers, but come on Romey- 439 on a sleeved block? I think it's pretty safe to say you can turn it up a bit more without any worries.

500 whp or sell the car!

There are people running 500 on stock blocks, I think it'd be ok for a sleeved motor.

I am happy with my new found power I can't lie it pulls hard. I know some members may "hate" because I wanted low numbers but I want my car 2 last. And remember I'm only on 12psi =D

Wow... talk about overkill! I'm sure its fun now, but at least you can turn up the power later when you get that sex change you always wanted.

I have a big clock on my wall that has a count down to when your dyno numbers get posted..

matter of fact.. i am about to hack the nuvaring (i know that since you dont' have a gf you dont' know what that is, but just run with me on this one) software and edit it to Craig's dyno alert numbers software.. and mail it to everyone in the FI forum

Congrats Romey and MRC. Very impressive build and kudos to you for wanting reliability and longevity versus big #s. Although 500whp is nice and easily achievable for that build.

Is safely boost an oxymoron?
