SHE’s ALIVE!!! 4.2L GTM Stroker, 547whp Dyno Dynamics/ 587Dyno Jet
Well guys it has been a long road since the last engine failure. But thankfully with a lot of hard work by Forged Performance and GTM we have gotten my Baby back on the road.
She is running a very conservative 547whp on Sharif’s dyno on 93 octane (1 bar wastegate pressure). Once I put some more miles and some street pulls on her, we will increase the boost and see what the GTM Stroker kit will produce. The new engine is the Stage 4 longblock.
Here is a video from one of the dyno runs… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIsCupspZK4
Sharif's new AWD dnyo is awaiting a new printer, so when that arrives he will post the dyno Graph for those interested.
Man, let me tell you the twin SSQV’s are really loud now… I LOVE IT.
As for the engine, it is hard for me to tell honestly it is even stroked. It starts and sounds like a normal VQ. I even have the GTM turbo cams and it idles like stock… even better. No dips or wavering around searching like some of the boosted cars do.
As for power, I was not able to really nail it because of the crappy weather between Atlanta and D.C on Sunday, but I gave her a little push from 1 -2 and as soon as I nailed it, even on the Drag Radials’s, it just shot sideways.
I did a # of 5th & and 6th gear pulls and Man-OH-Man, it scoots like you would not believe… Seeing this on the ¼ will be impressive
I can’t wait to get the higher boost set up along with (correction: 2 step launch). Gonna be lots and lots of fun.
I can not say enough about the guys at Forged Performance. The engine was shipped over the weekend, Arrived mid day Monday. Everything was installed by Thursday and on the Dyno Friday for tuning and Break-In. There were a lot of little things that had to be checked, and rechecked since the last time she was running. The AAM Fuel system had to be pulled (leaking, cracking and such), a lot of the hoses had to be replaced due to excessive heat/ wear. But after a # of long nights, Saturday and Sunday spent in the shop; the car is running very well.
Thanks again to Chris, Devon, Sandy and Caesar from Forged for the warm welcome and keeping the doors open to get the job done on such a tight timeline.
Sam and his team at GTM definitely build some amazing engines and this 4.2Liter Stroker Kit is definitely one of them. I look forward to seeing how hard we can push this and then decide on the best ways to apply the power Sam has given us to the road.
Anyway, if people want I can post the engine/driveline/fuel/cooling/EMS mods later. Trust me it is a VERY long list..

Awesome man. Where's your redline set at?
Now all that needs to happen is for you and Bert to line up at MIR or Crapital.
Tony (pees himself at the thought of a 4.2)

So...if you don't mind me asking...how many Z's could you have bought with the cost to build that insane setup...i like to ask every once in a while to slap myself from my dreams back into reality.

I think BamBam was refering to the Navigator Pro, so we can have user selectable maps for race fuel.
I am REALLY glad you made it back home. The weather was horrbile across the eastern seaboard.
And just a point of clarification. The boost pressure at 547whp was actually 12psi. The wastgate springs are 1Bar, which produces about 12psi after factoring intercooler pressure losses.
Enjoy, and we'll see you in a couple of weeks for the big numbers!

Good to hear Brent....With all the hassles you have had I'm sure you are glad it is going good now
BTW...I was flipping through the channels yesterday on tv and all of a sudden there was your car on tv doing a donut in a parking lot...lol. Some show on G4 called Street Fury (Washington DC episode).

Thanks guys... Redline is set at 7100 I believe.
Lets just say, I guess a Ferrari would not be out of the question for what I have put into the car
Yes that was Big-C from G-4 TV. Good eyes to catch that 10 second shot!! We did this filming the days after last year's DC HIN... almost 1 year ago this week It was MDRacer76 that set it up and he was doing a lot more stuff in the parking lot. But I guess they only showed like 10 seconds out of the 10 minute session.
Oh and yes the car will be at HIN, Chantilly on Saturday.

Finally your cars come a long way. I remember when I saw it at AAM getting work done to it. All in all I am stoke to see you happy again. Now please take that thing to the strip, let get some trap speed?
