Yes, GTM is a hug RIPOFF! My threads are elsewhere, you can read them...Sam at GTM took my 26K for a long block/TT setup and after 1.5 yrs, he only had a shortblock finished....Got a lawyer, he gave me my **** and took the car elsewhere...In the 1 yr since then, I have lost/had stolen, over 5k in parts from GTM. Sam even built my stroker block w/o proper clearance and the engine wouldn't even turn over after it was installed by another shop....WHAT A COMPLETE A-HOLE. He had PAINTED items I asked to be ceramic coated thereby cheating out of more money..I had to recoat all the parts...He wouldn't retun my HR conversion cooling system to fit my DE and when the other shop asked for it, he replied "why should I help him"? CAUSE IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO MF'R!!! Never did get those parts (900) and new shop had to remake them....headlight ballast and wiring was missing, c,losed dumps for waste gates were missing starter was missing etc etc....

Don't believe the hype and BS Sam puts out....I continue to bash his azz cause I have no way of collecting my lost money/parts...(attorney wanted 5k just to begin looking in to it)...

So, this is how I extract my freaking pound of flesh sam Coksukr Zawahara...U f'd me over so until the day I die I will CONTINUE TO bash ur azz everytime I get the chance......

U need some lead n ur diet but I ain't goin' that far...

GTM's shady reputation is nothing new and your story isn't a revelation. Most people learned about GTM a long time ago when Alberto and others came forward after they got screwed by GTM. Unfortunately, the VQ community has no shortage of newbs who fail to do adequate research on this forum before picking a shop, turbo kit, tuner, etc. This is probably part of the reason why Alberto was so harsh on you... because you didn't learn from his hard lesson with GTM or the numerous others who had blown GTM motors. People who did their research and learned from other forum members' past experiences already knew to stay away from GTM.

Default GTM

I hear ya rude...would have been nice to have had that info back then...unfortunately, I was new to the forums and didn't come here often... My initial rant about GTM was well over 1 year ago, so lesson learned...I just continue, as I said, to bash that freaking fat bellied coksoaker cause he's a fking thief and liar so I get my satisfaction from tearing his ******* on these forums every chance I get...just because you see a new rant means there is a new situation with GTM...wont ever do bz with that fat *** again.....
as I have said before, live and learn..THE HARD WAY! maybe another newb will see my constant rants and learn..maybe not... we all gonna be dead one day anyhow and it wont have matter a bit.

Picked up my car to drive around for a few days from Zcar and the biggest change is the install and tuning with a 96mm pulley. If you guys remember, this test was also previously done at GTM and it didn't make any difference, but here is the difference with the recent changes. There are some improvements but nothing to brag about.

More things to come in the future, but so far the result is just another punch to the stomach.

500whp at only 9psi is pretty impressive. What specifically is punching you in the stomach?

It would be a good number if my longblock was 3.5L but since i have a 4.2L the comparison of power/psi are not equivalent. Keep in mind that I made 350whp when i was NA, probably more now if i have the same non FI mods as i do now.

I certainly understand your frustration, but 500whp @ 9psi is very impressive...most of the Vortech setups make 500whp close to ~16psi...

Wondering if you just need a bigger blower or more spin on the blower for more boost on your bigger engine?

I noticed that the higher power dyno was cut off a few hundred rpm early, was that due to over revving the supercharger or a personal preference?

Neither of those are possible since I have the largest rotrex unit already and am way overspinning it already.

The one aspect that bothers me the most about my setup is the the power curve after 4k. Boost goes up but torque doesn't. Doing some calculation, at that location and up to around 6k the blower's efficiency is very good, at least based on the compression map.

I had an intuition that my overly large cams might be a problem but I have a dyno that was done after the HFC and smaller exhaust and it practically showed very little difference. This makes me deduce that if cam is a problem then it won't be a big one.

One thing I haven't tried yet which am feeling stupid about is having a run without water/meth. I'll have to ask Rob@Zcar to give that a try.

The higher HP one is with the smaller pulley and at the cliff is where the planetary gears for the blower loses traction due to overspinning.

Gabe,
the new dyno here is with the same hardware + smaller pulley + different tune, right? As we still talked about, I believe you have to play with cam & exhaust configuration. To feed the stroker a bigger cam is sure the right way. I recommend you to contact Jim Wolf with this point to get a better idea of what is important acc. to your engine design.

The fact, that boost increases but torque not seems to indicate that boost buildup is not an issue. But GTM changed the headers to factory manifolds because of their stage 2 intake for the rotrex. This is another issue and a not very well solution, caused by their placement of the blower. As you have seen with your Tomei parts, cam & exhaust play together. Maybe the factory exhaust manifolds choke the exhaust flow. You can measure this effect by monitoring the behavior of exhaust gas temperatures. Should ramp up quickly when reaching a choke point. The water-methanol is compensating this effect and you have to reduce timming, when trying to go without water-methanol injection. Depending on the methanol in it, afr will lean out as well. So be careful with this.

Thanks for your feedback.

I tried to contact Jim a while back but they didn't get back to me, but I have been in contact with Kelford. They did believe that the cam is not well suited for my car however their model is based on a 3.5 with stock compression. I wish i had the time to tune myself and try things out but at this point GTM and Zcar have played more then plenty with the tune and i'm quite confident that they tried everything possible to squeeze out power.

Yes this is the same hardware + smaller pulley + new tune. The header were changed from my LTH to factory 370 ones which supposedly isn't too much different then aftermarket DE headers. I thought about the header causing a choke point as well and had an EGT sensor installed on the driver side. The fluctuation in temperature from 2k to 6k is not severe and alarming which makes me believe that the exhaust manifold is not a problem. Though I haven't looked at it recently ever since the introduction of the HFC, but given the power difference I wouldn't believe that many things have changed.

The thing that's interesting to me as that this flat torque curve is actually not unique to my car, but to almost all the GTM SC. Any thoughts on this?

Given where I want to be and the state of this project it's pretty clear to me that I'm close to the limit of my current setup and without something drastic I won't reach my goals.

Default GTM

Hey Gabel... as I experienced as well, GTM is long on promises and short on delivery....BS and PROMISES are easy to make.

B cool bro.

Here is something that was in the work for the past month or so over at SiS. This is also being used for replacing the majority of my gauges via Dashcommand and PLX.

Behind the removable tablet is also where I have my DM200 and Aquamist gauges.

This is how the gauges and audio stuff are connected.

Now the car is back at Zcar for the next project, which I'll start another thread.

The tablet thing is a super cool idea and when implemented right should work awesome.

Which section should we look for your new thread?

It's working out good and the sound with the new setup is so much better.

I'm debating whether or not to create a thread but if I do it will be in the FI section since I'm swapping out for a single turbo and Haltech with e85.

edit: here is a video of the new center console

That is pretty cool. I think the departure from the GTM supercharger is the best move for you. Are you going to make any changes to your motor and which turbo kit are you after?

Perhaps if my car wasn't stroked already then this kit would be pretty good. I was debating between the BP and SOHO kit, but Zcar wants to do the SOHO since they had pretty good success with the Momemtum kit. As of now, no plans to change anything on the motor side.
