Wow, amazing work and machining. 92mm crankshaft, offset grinding a BC crank?

Here are a couple pics of the velocity stacks added to the inside of the intake plenum...

With FI, does the stock TB really cause that much restriction? I guess it's hard to say with minimal before/after testing possible, if it's ever happened.

I like the velocity stacks - pre-fab'd ones are available but being able to design and cut your own is pretty cool.

Also the GT35s seem to be something special. I have read reports (with Miatas I think) of the same setup dyno'd with .63 AR GT35R outspool and outpower a .82 AR GT30R. I think the transmission will be the limiting factor in this setup (but I don't really know what a built 5AT will hold for sure).

well if you are making a custom manifold, i'd make it for a 90mm Q45 tb or bigger FAST TB. They just reflash the stock ECU in the Titan to use a LS 90mm TBs, so it would be just as easy to reflash for a 90mm LS TB on a Z with a custom intake manifold.

I wonder why everyone makes "kinetix" style manifolds and not not coffin style like CJMs....

This is more GTR style, not Kinetix (all 6 to one side). I suspect fabrication would be much more difficult trying to replicate the CJM, Cosworth, or even OEM manifold structures... It will be interesting to see how air is fed to the different banks.

The Q45 90mm TB is cable driven not DBW.. Will not work. We have plenty of the Q45 TB's around here.
The LS1 TB is an option but we are going to run twin VQ35 TB's instead. We will have plenty of air flow. We can tune the ECU ourselves and will create our own amplifier to control the 2nd TB w/o overloading the ECU's TB driver.
Of course we have never done this but we are confidant that we can make it work.
Besides.... This set-up will look amazing with twin turbos, twin wastegates, twin intakes, and twin TB's....

the CJM manifold is a work of art compared to the other style. It takes hours and hours of machining to make and requires a huge block of aluminum. The price to make a CJM has to be 3-5 times the cost. Not everyone has a 5axis Cnc but a lot of shops have welders.

Cool, ya it can be done pretty easily. TurboTim from SFR did it about 5 years ago. Very cool indeed

Coffin type sheet metal manifolds are standard on V8s. Dont need a CNC to do that. Actually the one that SP used on their race car was sheet metal that CJM made.

1/2" spacer with stock manifold seems to work just as well as anything else I've seen dyno'd to date...

I know Turbo Tim and have seen his car before. It was well done. Fitment was certainly a bit tighter in the Z. I am building one quite similar in my 240SX w/ a 350Z front end and a VQTT.
He did a great job, I always liked his!

ya i saw your manifold thread. nice work.

i'd love to try a large volume coffin style compared to my cosworth.

There was a rat's *** chance in hell that the 5AT would hold 800whp. Maybe they figured that out the hard way.
