Wtf Nissan Retardship/Stealership???
GIGANTIC WARNING: This is another what the hell is going on thread in relation to a Nissan dealership so, if you’ve read too many of these to count or your wife or significant other is wearing something frilly and is calling your name from the bedroom, for the love of all that is good and holy please do not continue. If you want to read and offer me sympathy or better yet, useful advice, please continue…please.
So, some of you know me. I’m Mike…and wouldn’t you know it, I am a 350z owner. Who the hell would of guessed.
Anyway, like many of you, I enjoy changing the oil in my car to you know, keep it from running like a toaster on roids. Jesus…
Anyway again, I do not take my car to the dealer I purchased it from. That in itself is way too long to go over so I’ll just hit FF on this post.
I thought I had found a diamond in the ruff, a mirage…a God send even. That is, a Nissan dealership that was one step of above the absolute garbage we read about on here. Once again, they've out done themselves.
I had an oil change booked for tonight. A Thursday night as that is the only night they are open past normal hours and are easily accessible for myself and all concerned given the dealership location in relation to my office. So, fine…I take it over after getting a haircut after work. I actually roll up 20 minutes early in the hopes this would allow things go even more smoothly; giving all concerned plenty of time to change my oil (as we all know, one of the most complicated processes in the known universe).
I sit there…I sit in the dealership for 1.5 hours. Don’t get me wrong, I was fine. I had a book, there was sports on a nice plasma television, a beautiful fish tank and dealership tartlets clip-clopping around on the tiled floor with their death spikes (that was actually kinda hawt but I digress).
I look up to see a mechanic looking at me with a look on his face as if he just saw the ghost of Boris Yeltsin out for revenge. That being the case, the first thought is something tragic has happened (someone sneezed on or near my baby).
Get this…apparently, the “special lifts” that the dealership has are not “compatible with my body kit of choice.” I have the MSA Suzuka lip kit (ie. INGS replica).
The part I couldn’t get over the most was that I was questioned at least three times over “what I’ve done to the suspension?” I bought the 2006 brand new in late 2005 and have not modified the suspension in any way. Seems to me that a Nissan dealer SHOULD KNOW THAT!
I wasn’t so much upset with the fact that I couldn’t get the oil changed. I get it changed there and have never considered doing it myself because I wanted documented records of it being done. What was annoying was the fact that it took 1.5 hours for a Nissan dealership to figure out that they would not be able to change the oil on a Nissan vehicle.
So, now I don’t know what to do. I was thinking of scouting a Jiffy Lube type place but am completely paranoid with how they might treat my Z considering Nissan itself couldn’t manage to get my car on a lift.
For the love of gawd…someone stop them. They must be stopped.
*END RANT*
Signed,
Not as well lubricated as I should be in Toronto.
PS. Apparently shiny objects really dazzle these morons. I looked into the bay area and see my hood up and a few gangly geniuses staring at my carbon fiber pieces like it was gold itself. Clemlover, if you see this please chime in and defend your people (well, not necessarily yours…but you get me). Christ...I need a drink...but will I be able to get the glass onto the table? Only time will tell...

You could always change it yourself
All ya do is change the oil, replace the filter, and then write down in a journal that says "On June 29th, I changed my oil ... used 5.1 qts of 'Ubar Synthetic' 0w30". I'd also place the receipts of the oil and oil filter you used. Plenty of "how-tos" around the forums. Plus you'll never have to worry "did they *really* change my oil, or did they just take my money and say they did??" (indeed, it happens all the time!)

Aaaw, Risky, a very entertaining story you tell, tartlets on death spikes and all. Oh, that's right we're supposed to be helping. lol. Seriously, the perfect dealership is a very hard find, and those that are should be platinum plated.
