I still like the Z's, even though both 05 model and 06 model had a butt load of issues such as crappy motors, transmissions etc etc........ lol still nice cars but I can't look at them the same way. Every year had some kinda issues, 04/05 had tire feathering and other minor issues, 05 had tranny issues and god knows what else and my latest 06 manual had crazy oil consumption issues .... so to say that it was a reliable car is ummmm not so true.

Nearly every car no matter the make is going to have some sort of problem big and small.. Imo A 100% completely reliable car is a myth.

Very true. We have all heard of the 'issues' with RX8's, but mine has been FLAWLESS...

You should expect issues with the first couple of years of a complete new car. EVERY car manufature has this happen, not in any way isolated to nissan and much less the 350z. I have a 2006 touring 6 speed. 33k miles 3 years and zero, as in not a single problem. Runs and drives the same as the day I drove it off the lot.

I would have to say this..... I expect to have some problems when buying a new or preowned car. One thing I can not tolerate is oil consumption issues in a sports car motor. From what I have read this happens when you beat on the car or not. replacing engines! thats a non no in my book. I cancelled my order on a 06 mt base because I do not want to be bothered with the possibility of OC. I drive way to much and feel that I car I plan not to beat on should not be burning up oil. I never buy the first year of any car but, to tell you the truth it seems that the z TSB has gotten worse over the years. Lets be honest would you rather have a tire feathering problem with the tires or oil consumption? I look forward to owning a z I waited many years for nissan to hash out there problems. I will be looking for a 07/08 enthusiast model. MT of course.

Oh, and black window streaks and two radio replacements (sound would cut out on one channel while playing cd's). I also have an annoying rattle coming from the rear, but only when the car is cold (first few miles).

I (currently) own Fords, Chryslers, a GM, and of course, the Nisson 350Z.

. . . .and despite all the problems that I've had with the Z, I still like it.
Jesus, the only problem with my 04 with 41k miles was the axle clicking problem but your experience sounds like a really bad nightmare.

That is the best-supported argument I've ever seen.
