going to Colorado Spring on x-mas
we plan going to Colorado Spring on 12/22 and leave on 12/17. Please give me advice if I should rent a car or use my 350z ? I dont care about the mileage but should snow and icy-road be a problem ?
Thanks for your input!

You could prob get away with driving to the Springs, depending on the weather that week, the roads are cleared fairly well here in the Springs.
With that said, you will not be able to go to any of the snowy place (higher elevations). My advice would be to rent a car.
BTW, get ready for the long drive once you leave Texas. That drive thru NM is BORING and Dangerous!
GL and drive safe, and if you do drive the Z, be ready for no HP. You lose a lot at these altitudes. I was amazed, when my Z was at 0 sealevel when I drove it to South Texas.
BTW, there is lots to do up here, ensure if you do one thing you go Skiing or Snowboarding.

I'll be headed in the opposite direction (south) at about the same time you come in. I'm hoping to get out of Colorado without facing snow in my 350Z. As the other posters here have said, the weather changes frequently and I wouldn't count on being able to use my 350Z every day in CS. Put your Z away safely and rent a car for peace of mind!
I've driven the roads from Dallas into Colorado through the panhandle and SE Colo. They can be very dangerous in foul weather. Flat and windy mixed with snow and ice is a lethal combination. I'd be reluctant to do it in a 4WD and my feeling is that it would be foolish to try it in a Z. The weather can change very quickly and be very unforgiving.

thanks for all your input guys ... guess i will have to leave my z at home. it will be my 1st time in colorado, where should I go and what should I buy if I want to go for a ski / snow boarding ? thanks ! I'm feeling the cold already
If you want to try some skiing/boarding I would suggest Winter Park or Keystone. WP had a first time program that included equipment, lift ticket, school and lunch.

These areas are very beginner friendly so you should have a good experience at either of them. If you want to try a smaller area I suggest Loveland. It's right along I 70 at the tunnel. It's only 60 miles from Denver.

All you need to bring is some warm clothes, hat and goggles. Some of the areas also rent clothes which would make things easier.
Have a good time!!!

I think Keystone's Schoolmar run is the greatest place to go if it's your 1st time skiing/boarding. It is long as hell. It took me about 3 hours to go down (once) the 1st time I tried snowboarding lol.
I really like Copper for the mountain to snowboard on, their green runs are really great. Lots of long lazy runs to go if you just wanna learn. And if you feel adventureous, you can always get on the blue's 'n blacks. Only problem is the weekends are usually PACKED.
And for a real treat with virtually no lines and great great snow... steamboat
