hmm... i was sorta thinking of like a special mechanic. not a shop because when i had my sti i had real good handymen around with their own little shop that didnt charge much and did the job.

If by "handyman" you mean a Z enthusiast who would do the job in their own garage, good luck. Reasonable is a matter of perspective. As an example, I've had years of working on racecars and did the install of my Koni/Eibach/Nismo setup myself. Unless you have a laser alignment rack, you're still going to need to spend the $$ to get it right. The entire process took me a LOT longer than a pro would and I'd likely charge BOATLOADS to do it again...

Looks like you may have called TC's? I was there tonight and they said someone called about working on a Z and they were going to call them in the morning.

I will say that Tobi isn't the cheapest shop in town, but he is the best and will never do anyone wrong. You do get what you pay for. Just remember, you will remember the quality job someone did for you much longer then you will ever remember what you paid for it.

Anytime you change the spring height, or install any suspension component that affects overall alignment, you will need some precise equipment to bring the suspension back into spec. The 350Z is particularly sensitive to caster, camber and toe settings...

+1 on TC's. I've not taken my Z there, but everyone I've ever talked to who has taken their car there has raved about the good work that Tobi did, and the fair treatment they received.

Mudd is right...you'll forget the extra money you spend to have it done right the first time. You don't want a cut-rate shop installing something that could fail and send you flying through a guardrail up in the mountains. Not saying that your STi tech did bad work, but you'll have a hard time finding a more proven shop than TC's.

If you're hesitant about a shop, you could take your car there for just a quick, simple thing, and see how the experience goes. I'll bet you could even go into TC's and just talk to Tobi to get a feel for the place. When I went there to help a friend drop off his WRX, we ended up getting a full tour of the shop and quite a bit of free technical advice. I would not hesitate to take my Z there, and I'm as leery of mechanics as anyone.

I will be there. I am interested in this setup. I thought about doing the sway and spring combo.
