Default Pictures from Friday at the Grand Prix.

Here is the link for the pictures I took today. Not a whole lot of them came out well, but I will post them anyway. There are 267 of them so I didn't take the time to resize, so some are large...... Sorry

It was great seeing everyone yesterday. We'll have to get another meet together soon!

From where that pic was taken Gary, you must have been sitting right behind or in front of me yesterday and I didn't even know it.
Damn I am dumb.

That's cool! So, who was responsible for the slide on the jumbo screen?

Great pictures, Joel! Everytime I see pictures like those or the ones that Will posted, it makes me want to go spend some money on a better camera, so that I can get the same results.

Brian - we must have just missed you in the stands yesterday. Sorry about that.

I'm looking forward to Sunday. Judging by the first BMW race today, and the qualifying results in the other sessions, it should be a good day at the races!

Thanks Gary. I take a lot of photos for work, so I'm fortunate enough to have the resources for cool equipment and gadgets.

Hey, does anyone have scanner frequencies ? I haven't used my scanner much - it makes as much sense to program as my VCR circa 1980s.. I would at least like to try and tune in the PA announcer while the races are running.

Getting out wasn't half as tough as fitting my shoulders INTO that full carbonfiber chassis! Still, I was determined not to be on permanent display at the Champ Car exhibit. Just imagine it: "Look Mom- that man is stuck in there. Will he be one of those "Body World" exhibits someday?"

Whoa! I almost forgot about this. As we were leaving today we saw a Ferrari Enzo (black) parked in our lot. I thought these cars were rare, very rare... I wondered if it was a kit but we were already dirving away when I noticed it. If it's there tomorrow I'll take some pictures and let you guys be the judge.

On another note, we saw a Ford GT the other day up in Woodland Park (the real deal, in grey with a black challenger stripe). I thought these were equally rare, but a beautiful sight to see none the less. I love that car.

Will- If you didn't catch it on page one. Joel is working the event and always has one of the best seats in the house. Come to one of our SCCA events and they'll find a place for you too!

I painted them out in Photoshop!

EDIT: [Doh! David stole my thunder...]

I'm working at the track for the SPEED World Challenge Group. I have access to the areas directly behind the barriers where there are holes cut out in the fencing for professional photographers. I just stay out of their way and keep an eye out for flying car parts. Stop by and say "hi" if you see me tomorrow, I'm sporting a black cap that says "350Z."

Joel

P.S. I have 2 free parking passes if anybody wants them. I'll check my PMs in the morning for takers. I should be available in the morning near the SPEED trailer behind Kaceys Fine furniture on 12th. I'll have my cell and if I'm not working I can meet you near the registration area.

Whow! What a finish! The hometown hero comes through for a win and that lunkhead Tracy takes out the second place car at the last turn of the last lap. You could see it from the in-car clearly, Tracy chopped Bourdais on the back straight and then took the inside line for the run down. After being passed for position, he simply decided to run into Bourdais and see who had more parts left to creak over the finish line...

BOOM! Tracy crashes both cars and neither has enough left to make the finish. Bourdais climbs out and rushes over to start the obligatory push-and-shove crap. You'd think that Tracy would be professional enough to at least say it was a 'no-hope' pass, but he didn't in the subsequent TV interview... What a dumb*** I hope Champ Car takes this seriously and puts his butt on the sidelines for at least two races. Maybe another driver can put that multi-million dollar racing equipe to better use.

Yes, PT did force Seabass to pass him on the outside, but as they entered the turn PT committed himself to the pass from an impossible position. He carried too much speed into the turn and understeered straight into the side of SB's Lola. Ask any racing driver: it's the responsibility of the car doing the passing to avoid unnecessary contact. PT ignored that very basic rule. Of course, he figured that SB needed the points and got mad when this didn't intimidate him. Not very smart, but then nobody has ever accused PT of being able to resist foolish moves on the track...

The sanctioning body changes, the team names change and the cars change, but one thing remains constant: Paul Tracy is a HACK!!!!! He always was and he always will be. He's been doing the same tricks for years. You'd think the sanctioning body would permanently disqualify him.
