Default PMI Open day.

Hey sup guys, I was crusing S2Ki and there is a thread going about getting interested parties to head down to PMI in the near future (within a month or so)
I just thought I'd post up and see if anyone is interested in getting a little seat time in the near future. Could turn out to be a decent sized group. It'll have to be on a week day though. I am thinking end of august/early september, what time would any of you be interested in going?

We haven't decided on a day for this yet, but its looking like Friday Sept 8th, or one week later, the 15th, could be some possibilities.

Hey guys, just checked and both the 8th and 15th of september are reserved by clubs. So, it looks like we either wait until the 22nd to get a friday, or we go on a thursday.

Edit: how about if we get a realistic head-count now, to see who's interested in going, and perhaps we can just go and reserve a day.

I'm interested but I don't know when I'll be back or when I'll have time off to go. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Posted this on S2ki.com lets get it going here too!

ok!
I'll start a list:

More or less for sure: (correct me if I'm wrong!)
1) Hyper (Barry) IS300
2) Spartikus (Jorge) S2k
3) J.T. Heilbrun S2k
4) J.T. H Friend ???
5) Chuy (codrift.org) S14 Kouki
6) Adam (codrift.org) S13/SR20DET

Potentially:
1) Spa01s2k S2k
2) Psyclone S2k
3) Peter (my350Z.com) 350Z
4) Amarao (my350Z.com) 350Z
5) RobertK (my350Z.com) 350Z

Thats a pretty good headcount, Chuy suggested doing a little deposit to reserve the day. I'll call today to find out if we can reserve the 22nd, unless anyone has any objections!

P.S. just add on to the applicable list in your replies!

Update, I just called PMI, well this is kinda interesting, there is a mis-print on their webpage, the 8-10 September US Speedway Series event is actually
9-10 September, so that means the 8th is OPEN.
the 22nd is reserved already, and I double checked the 15th is reserved by the Porsche club.

Here is the deal, we can actually reserve the WHOLE day if we wanted to for 1000. If we go down for a whole day its 100 bux a head, if its a half day its 60. The availability of the track is sketchy, as people call and re$erve days at random there, but, out of the three dates we've all discussed, the 8th is the only friday open.

Those of us who are certain about going, lets convene ASAP and get the money together to reserve the track for the 8th, are we cool with that?

If we can get 10 people paid up, either in part, or in full (preferably full), we can for sure have our sept. 8th track day. If we can get the "potentials" to sign up the savings happens instantly! (e.g. with 15 people, we get the whole day for about $66.00!!!)

Post here on what course of action you guys recomend, and i'll relay it to the other boards!

Few updates:

On the 8th, it is cars only. No cycles!

The way the track reservation system works is a bit different than I first indicated: 1000 is paid up front by 10 cars. This reserves the track. Those 10 cars are paid for. After that, additional people have an option of paying for a full day or a half day (100 or 60).

The day starts at 8am, and ends at 4pm.

So with that in mind, I also asked about half day rentals, which they have, but they are _only on Mondays_. Its from 12.00pm -> 4.00 pm. Its 60 a car 50/cycle. Their next available half day Monday is on the 18th. They allow both cars and cycles on Monday, not on Friday.

Sorry about all the options, this is my first time actually setting up one of these!

So, basically the new question I'm asking is: Would you guys rather reserve this for the whole day ($100) or a half day ($60).

Sept 8th($100/car) or Sept 18th($60/car).

I took the liberty of reserving the 8th, just in case.

WOW!!! Thanks for doing all the research. Yeah the 18th might be better for me. My only concern is there will not be enought running time. 4hrs is not that much when you have 20+ cars (I've notice this on several forums). Not if there is only 10 or so cars I can see a half day working. Just my 2 cents.

This is an interesting point. The full day is only 40 bux more, so, if we get that much interest we can certainly do that!

So everyone please post up what day you have a preference for!

I don't want to set a date for myself. Whatever date you all pick I will do my best to get out there. I just don't know when I'll be home.

I posted this on S2ki, just mirroring here!

Hey guys, I was actually curious how the for-sure parties would like to do this. Basically for the "base 10" ie, the first 10 through the gate, we secure the 1000, we just show up at the track, with the money preferably by 8am, and pay as we enter. From there on out, we are green, and people pay for their desired time (60 or 100). It is important though that the base 10, are 100% commited, because if we loose people, the remaining people have to then cover the difference to 1000!

I would like to get a head count of those interested in the full day, and those interested in the half day.

Half day pay works like this: you pay 60, and you get 4 hours of track time from the time you enter, until your 4 hours is up. So its best to arrive before noon in order to get atleast 4 hours!

Track is open 8am-4pm.

You guys want to rendezvous at a common location (like park meadows) on the way to Pueblo Friday morning at like 530-6am?

All you need is a helmet, but I'd recomend plenty of drink, and some food! Bring your spare with you, and any tools you might need, I bring my whole tool box, and for that day I'll probably bring my jack and stands just incase people need it. If anyone has compressed air, or a decent compressor, that'd be great, if you don't mind sharing.

-Barry
