Just thought I'd pass this along. The Z Car Club of Colorado (ZCCC) is sponsoring a track day at SCR on June 7th. According to the announcement, cars will have to pass a tech inspection and drivers and passengers will (of course) wear helmets. There will be four run groups: novice, intermediate, advanced and expert.
Cost is reasonable: $65 for members and $75 for non-members. Entry limited to the first 50 cars.
For those that ran our PMI track day, SCR is quite different. A tight and twisty track it is considered quite "technical". There are several interconnected turns that you must get right as you enter or you'll lose speed (or spin!) There are two short straights, but top speeds in our 350Zs will not be what we saw at PMI. Nevertheless, SCR is a fun and challenging track!
I plan to be there and hope to see more of our 350Z group try it out. I'll volunteer to instruct, but I'm new to this group myself. The ZCCC does require that everyone take turns manning corner stations between runs, so we'll be busy all day.
For more info or an entry form, please contact the Chief Steward of the event, Gary Bracken at gbracken@dimensional.com or at (303) 969-9964.

Z Car Club of Colorado is also having the Rocky Mountain Regional Meet on September 3rd. through 6th.
Track event, mountain drive, car show, 2 car museums along with sponsor gifts.
The ZCCC is hoping to see Z lovers from all surrounding states to join in on the fun. You can register at www.zccc.org.
Sport Z will be running a 1/2 page ad in the summer issue; full details will be depicted therein.
BTW, dkmura I look forward to seeing you at Second Creek on June 7th. and before that as well.
FYI, dkmura has been selected by Sport Z Magazine [shameless plug] to be our driver/writer for the exclusive test drive of the newly upgraded Stillin 350Z. Time and place still not set, but we're hoping to have it done around April 20th. or 21st.
Sport Z and dkmura--it doesn't get any better.

Haven't had much reaction to this thread, so I'm bumping it up!
Keep in mind that June will be here soon and registration for the ZCCC event will also fill up! Anyone else interested? This is a track event in the Denver metro area with controlled passing and instruction. SCR may also become extinct after 2004, so this may be a rare opportunity to experience a track confined to the annals of Colorado motorsport history. In short a perfect opportunity to open that Z up!
Post here if you plan to go!

I'm in (assuming that I get my registration though in time.) This sounds like it should be a really good event. SCR seems to have a pretty challenging layout, and I like the fact that it's so close to home.
David, what's the word on SCR closing down after 2004?

David,
I would love to do this.
Do I need to join the club or do I just follow the link in the bottom of the your first post to get a registration form?
If you could clarify what is required for us/me to join this event I would appreciate it. (Sorry I graduated from a public school)

Sorry it took me some time to find this. You can either join the ZCCC ($65/entry fee) or not ($75/non-members). Either way you need to file an entry form with the ZCCC. Follow Publisher's link to www.zccc.org and download the form. Send in your entry and get ready for some fun!
BTW-I graduated from DPS and CSU- can't use that as any excuse!
David, thanks again for your help in putting together another track day. One question. I recently acquired a crack in the lower part of my windshield will this be a problem during the inspection of my car?
Thanks in advance, Dennis

To answer your question, I'm not the tech guy for ZCCC. BUT, in my experience, if the crack has not gone all the way across the windshield, it's not considered a safety item that would prevent you from passing the inspection.
However- I'll also put in a plug for ZCCC membership- they have a deal with Elite Autoglass for a 67% discount on glass. So maybe you should join, get your windshield replaced and get a discount on your SCR entry as well!
Appreciate the props, but the ZCCC is putting on the SCR event. I'll try to help out the 350Z guys as much as I can, but I'm still just another participant!
