I do like it when the bushes come alive at the end though, real nice touch with the cheesy graphics. Stanley Kubrick opted not to do this so had that maze instead. If your intrested in the one the stanly hotel had, its the 1997 version by the king himself. It was a USA mini series. Supposed to follow the book directly unlike the kubrick movie which moved away from the book a bunch. Just a little intresting trivia, that and to help you not feel so dated!

On that note, I do love it up there, that drive after boulder gets real fun. I bought my Eclipse GSX up in estes. Tons of fun to drive up there and back, and its such a great place to visit and see! We go camping near there all the time! Glad you had fun. (Next time you will have to go in, they have pretty decent food, but horrible service). Cheers.
Wow, you beat me by a minute!!

Colorado is such a great state for driving. There are just tons of great roads and cool places to visit.

I almost forgot to mention I met a local, somewhat famous, guy yesterday; Sheriff David Weaver! FYI: He drives an unmarked tan Tahoe with red/blue LED warning lights in the grille.

Story:
I was driving north on 25 headed to Golden to met the two S2k guys. I needed to get over for the 470W exit. Well it came up a bit quicker than I was thinking. I proceeded to get-over from the #2 lane to the #1 lane. Didn't relize how fast the car I was getting infront of and had to speed up. At that time the car in front of me now hit the brakes pretty hard and slowed down. I downshifted and floored it went left ito the #2 lane cutting off a tan Tahoe. Went back into the #1 lane to make the exit when the Tahoe fellowed and hit the warning lights. I pull all the way over giving the officer plenty of safe room from traffic. Do my typical steps, warning harzards, tunr off the radio, rolled down the window, and place both hand on the steering wheel. Nice heavy set (built) guy walks up in this nice suit and intorduce himself, "Sheriff David Weaver, Douglas County. Do we normal drive like that in Texas?"
"No sir, the exit came up sooner than I expected and had to make an emergency pass to avoid an accident."
"DL, Insurance, regstration please. You have about 8 points of violations whit that stunt back there."
"Sir, I'm sorry but I just didn't want to rearend the car in front of me and the car behind was coming pretty quickly. I had to make a judgement and I saw I had enough room to get in front of you."
*Note: Went on Wednesday to get my Colorado DL so I have my Texas w/ a punch hole and a Colorado paper DL.*
"Sir, here is my DL & Co paper DL. I just went to get my CO DL yesterday."
"So where do you live now and what's your purpose in Denver?"
"I'm in Fountain now sir, and visiting friends."
"OK... Slow down! You're not in Texas anymore."
"Yes sir, be safe."

Wow, if you are referring to me this would be the first time I have been referred to as an old fart. I'm 28!!

I lived with my grandmother when I was in middle school and she was a big Stephen King fan. I read a lot of his books while I lived there and she introduced me to the movie version of the Shining. I think she rolled over in her grave when the second version came out.

Off topic but when is the next Colorado meet? I just got my Z and I would like to join up and do a mountain drive with some other owners this summer.

^^^ LOL! He was replying to Robert's comment!

Robert, that's a funny encounter. That C470W/E470 exit off I-25N is my regular route several times a week as I live just a few miles south of there off I-25. That exit lane does tend to creep up fairly quickly. Good to know you escaped without a ticket! Douglas County Sheriff's Dept can be brutal on that stretch of the highway.

P.S: Be VERY careful as you come over the hill on I-25N at Castle Pines Pkway. There is almost always a CST parked at exit 190. I see people pulled over there daily.

I'll go check out that thread. I am planning a day trip up HWY 24 to Hwy 9 into Summit County this summer. I love that drive but I haven't driven it in my Z yet. Actually any twisty drive brings a smile to my face.

I've seen that spot also! I get in the far left lane and on the left-rear of the car on my right to hide from the radar/laser.
