I wish I could take the time off from work and run PMI again. Unfortunately I can't take any time off until November. Hopefully you can find a few more participants and make this track day happen.

I have a co-worker who might want to join us in a track prepped 97 Camaro.

Let us know if GM guys are welcome. :-)

dkmura,

obviously you are the decision maker on this thing, but i just wanted to weigh in that I have no objection to mixing the brands of cars at this training session--especially since half the guys around here did get the training certification early, a full day with Z only folks may be next to impossible. Since the remaining folks in need of the class can't go to track days at pueblo without the class, and you need more certified folks to make other track days happen, it would seem that getting the remaining Z folks "qualified" makes sense (again, if we have sufficient numbers).

This day is scheduled far enough in advance that I can (barring unforeseen circumstance) make it, even if it is a tuesday.

just my two cents

Just wanted to post up and say that I won't be coming to this event. Hopefully you guys will end up getting enough participants so you can have a fun day. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.

Since we're having a hard time attracting enough Nissan/Infiniti/Datsun entries, I'm open to accepting other marques to bolster our class. As always, we'll need everybody's cooperation to pull this off. Here's the current list as I see it:

1. funkymonkey1111 (350Z)
2. tsabrale (350Z)
3. shushikiary (350Z)
4. jover4X4 (240Z)
5. jover4X4's buddy (Camaro-need name and confirmation)
6. Dave90TT's buddy (Vette- need name and confirmation)

Thanks to youngz33 for replying, still waiting to hear from Abishop, Souit, 350z.drifter and 350ZMPH.

And with Amarao and Dave90TT auditing the class, I'd like to request their help in setting up some of the AM driving exercises, as well as participating in some of the on-track exercises later on.

I'm going to wait until after Labor Day weekend to begin accepting class fees and/or finalizing the class syllabus. Please post up NOW if you intend to make this or have any questions! This will be the final PMP Safety class that I plan on offering for 2007.

David

No sweat with the driving exercises and the on-track stuff. I'll be glad to help! As soon as I get confirmation from my buddy, I will let you know.

Are we still looking at $150? (just wanted to make sure, not that I mind paying that, for more track time than I get at the NASA events, which are more than worth it as it is!)

Until we get more than 10, the cost per entry will be at least $150. That's why I'm hoping we get more interest.

Cool, sounds like we have enough people at least to make it happen. Of course, I am in. Time to ask for the time off from work. ..

I'm in: sign me up! I'm 42 and never raced on a track - but this car is just beggin to race. Can I get more info on what to expect? Where's a good place to buy a reasonably priced helmet that will protect my oversized melon head??

WOW!!! This man hasn't even owned his a NISMO Z a full month and signed up for a track event/safety class!!! Really wish I could attend to see how the Nismo version performs!!!

Anyhow, for those that don't have a helmet please pick one up. Here are some links about helmets and where to buy:
- https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ghlight=helmet
I personally will not give my business to Morten's cause of an arguement the owner & I had on another forum. However I do recommend to try on helmets before making a purchase.

Also here is a lot of good info from the last PMP HPDC:

I pretty much did the same thing you are doing. As soon as I hit 1250, I changed the oil to syn and started enjoying my 07. I am sure you can't wait!

Man wish I could be at this track day to see your Nismo Z. I give you big props to have a special edition nismo Z and be eager to take it to the track where it belongs. I was afraid everyone with a Nismo Z would turn it inot a garage/show queen rather than open the thing up on a track.

David usually lets people use motorcycle helmets for the track days, but if you plan on doing any more track events, I recommend you buy a Snell SA2005 helmet. Open or closed face doesn't matter- it's personal preference.

You will want bring a long sleeve shirt and wear pants instead of shorts, all cotton material, for track time. I usually have a long sleeve shirt I wear just on the track, and then remove when I'm done with the session if it's hot out. David might not be too picky on the long sleeves, but it is usually the track rule.

Bring lots of water and somehting to eat in a cooler.

I recommend you get a better set of brake pads for the track day. I like the EBC Redstuff since it's inexpensive, won't tear your rotors up when cold, and has a much higher heat threshold than stock pads or Hawk HPS. Cobalt makes some good pads as well that perform well on the track, David will know which compound to get.

Bleed your brake fluid with a higher temp fluid. Motul RBF600 is nice, but Valvoline Synpower is just fine and can be found in a big container at Pep Boys.

Some people, like me, usually bring a good supply of tools, hoses, clamps, tape, and a jack for any issues that may arise. This is totally optional with the exception of a torque wrench and tire pressure guage. You will wnat to check your lug bolts and tire pressures throughout the day, so bring at least these two items.

You'll have fun. I really wish I could be there to meet you and your ride. It's good to have some fresh faces come to the track with a machine designed for it. You're going to have a great time with your car and the great people in this Z community.

Will

Thanks for the suggestions Res. It's good to know ahead of time what to expect. It's too bad we can't have everyone attend the event.
