I seriously apologize for the late timing of this, but I'm not going to be able to attend the Oct track safety class. With the car purchase and a bunch of other unforseen (and painful) financial hits in the last three weeks, I'm just plain tapped out -- not enough cash for the class itself and purchasing a helmet. I hope to be able to take the class in the spring, if it is offered at that time -- I'd realy like to get this car out on the track and see what she can do.

Sorry again for the lateness of my bailing out: I was trying to figure out how to make it work.

Arrived back in Colorado tonight and went through the mail. Here's who has paid and is confirmed:

1. Dave90TT (auditing class in his G35TT)
2. tsabrale (350Z)
3. Al Richards (Dave90TT's buddy in a Vette)
4. Lou Ordorica (VW GTi)

Unfortunately, ColoradoClark has already bailed and I haven't heard from the following individuals or received any deposits:

1. funkymonkey1111 (350Z)
2. shushikiary (350Z)
3. jover4X4 (240Z)
4. jover4X4's buddy (Camaro-still awaiting name and confirmation)
5. Amarao (g35C)

With only 12 days to go before the class, it puts us into a precarious position. For exclusive use of the track on 10/2/07 we need more then just the five of us (and yes, I'm including myself as a track rental payee).

So the bottom line is this: unless I receive at least five more deposits by next Tuesday (9/25/07), I'll be CANCELLING this class! Refunds or tearing up checks (your choice) for those who sent in their money.

David

If the class gets cancelled (I hope not!) just tear up my checks.

I'm confirmed to be out of town that day. I'd prefer to spend the day with this group, but instead am going to go down for the previous Friday's open test/tune day.

But for any of you who haven't yet gone, you should really find a way to make this happen. You'll get great instruction from fellow Z owners and there won't be anyone else on the track. Last time, for the last 3 hours of the afternoon, we had the track all to ourselves. Towards the end I was low on fuel so just ran laps at about 7/10's and found I was really able to improve my line. You can't easily do that when the track is full with people you don't know.

Hope a few more of you can sign up and make this happen!

David,

Is it OK if I advertise the event on some other car boards? It would be a real shame to have to cancel the class, especially since Winter is around the corner and we won't have many track opportunities for a while.

Thanks,

-Lou

David,

If the class gets canceled, a refund would be great since I used the bill pay feature of my bank. I really hope we can get enough people. This sounds like such a great opportunity, and not many people jumped on it. I guess it can't be helped because of the reschedule, but there should at least be 10 people interested in this out of the 60+ Colorado registered Z's we have on this forum.

For me, I already have a hotel room reserved in Pueblo and already asked for vacation time off for this. I am ready to go. I was initially planning on making the Friday Track day, but can't because I don't have my name on PMI's list. From what I have read, this seems like a great way to save money and learn how to drive your car. If you know anyone who would be interested, please direct them asap.

Lou-

At this point, it's OK to advertise on some of the other boards. Please make it clear that they need to visit this thread or call, e-mail or otherwise let me know they are coming before next Tuesday. Deposits are required, not optional and they'll need to respond quickly.

Heard from shushikiary and he cannot make the event. Jover4X4 is still planning on going, but his buddy in the Camaro can't. Looks like we're going to be forced to count on outside help to get the numbers we need...

Dave,

I'm in Florida now, and will not return until Monday. I will put a check in the mail that day, but there's no guarantee you'll get it Tues. If you take my word for it, I assure you'll have it, but I cannot promise Tues.

Monday and here's the list:

1. Dave90TT (auditing class in his G35TT)
2. tsabrale (350Z)
3. Al Richards (Dave90TT's buddy in a Vette)
4. Lou Ordorica (VW GTi)
5. funkymonkey1111 (350Z)
6. jover4X4 (240Z)
7. Amarao (G35C- auditing class)

I've heard from the last three on the list and will hold their deposits when I receive them. Keep those fingers crossed for a few more to make this a go!

I think you need 10 total, so the seven we've got, plus David, makes 8. Short 2, is what I *think*, though I could be wrong.

If you are still interested, I could probably ask Rob K if he would let me borrow his helmet for your use, that would save you the cost of a helmet.

Hopefully we can find those two more. After all, this is going to be the highlight of my vacation. If you can make it Colorado, that would leave one. I tried to get a friend in Denver with a Mustang to come, but he has a cracked wheel.

Dave & Clark,

That wouldn't be a problem. You could just return it to Ada one day on base.

Damn, I was going to ask you inperson. Thanks, though! I will take responsibility if anything happens to your helmet.

Asking Robert_K on the forum is like asking him in person.
