Default Brake Shop Recommendation (Phx) - Brembos

I posted this in the brakes section and someone suggested also checking the regionals for shop recommendations -- for the Phoenix area.

Can someone recommend a good place in the Phx area to get the OEM Brembo pads replaced? Or do you think the dealer quote for $250 is correct and a good idea?

Thanks,

Original Posting...

"OK, so everything I have read so far makes me think that getting OEM Brembo's serviced at the dealer will cost $$$$ (like around $1,000+)! So would a dealer quote of $250 to change the front pads and turn the rotors be something to worry about? I know the do-it-yourselvers can do it for this price or less, but is this price too low for a dealer?

I am not at the point of changing them myself, and would rather learn later on someone else's car than on my own car!"

Hi Master. That does seem low. There are tutorials on how to change your brake pads on here. I would seriously recommend reading over one.

I was told my brake job would cost an arm and a leg. Plus, stock pads SUCK.

I am surprised they are willing to turn the rotors. Almost all dealers try to tell you that it cannot be done to try and sell you more stuff.

Yeah, I have a strong suspicion the dealer will say I need new rotors. That is why I am looking for recommendations on a local (to Phoenix) brake shop. Would be even better if I could find a good shop that would let me bring in my own parts, but that's probably pushing it!

There are sponsors in the Phoenix area on this board that should pick this up.
Who I do not recommend is Just Brakes.
or
Time to get together a Zonie Garage Day aka Retard Garage Day.
Pull together local people and get it done DIY style.

Depending on how you drive the car, you should really consider going with a stage 1 or stage 2 upgrade instead of just a normal brake job.

Stainless lines, new rotors, new pads, and RBF fluid. Wouldn't be that much more expensive.

Yeah, that was going to be my backup plan. I don't track or even drive that hard, but if I could find a place to do the labor, I would just get my own EBC rotors and redstuff pads, etc.

I will check for any local brake sponsors on this site...

Also, wouldn't even consider "Just Brakes"! :-)

Take it to goodspeed in tempe. Jon has a lot of experience with the Z and you can bring your own parts if you like.
