Default New to West Coast from VA

Hey everyone I'm currently in Denver right now attending school at UCD. Does anyone go to UCD from the area? I don't know where things are here but I've been walking around a little. My Z is in Virginia right now but I am considering on driving it from there to Denver. I just want to know what the weather is like and Colorado does not require emissions correct? Well, if anyone wants to show me around or something it'd be nice lol.. i dont have a ride here. Hopefully I will be able to come out to one of your meets over here. Here's a couple pics of my car

Welcome to CO! I used to live down on the bay, in Newport news. I live in north Colorado Springs area now.

There's a forum for the guys in Denver, called www.milehighz.com, which would be a good place to check in.

To answer your question, weather doesn't usually get bad until October. Until then, I wouldn't expect any snow. The winters can be a pain, and a daily driver is a nice asset if you can find one with 4WD. Otherwise, myself and a few others have gone through the winters with a good set of snow tires like the Blizzaks, and been fine. I have a Base model without traction control or a limited slip, and I have been able to drive around in most of the winter snows.

There are no emission checks in southern Colorado or the Springs, I'm not sure if Denver still has them or not.

Again, welcome to CO, and hopefully I'll meet you at one of the events this year. There is a track day coming up that you would have a blast attending, if you can make it. There is a thread for it in this forum.

Denver and the front range area definitely has emission checks. There are 'Colorado clean air' vans that move around the Denver area and can spot the gross polluters.

Resolute has hit the high points on getting involved in the local Z scene. I'd add that, while you can drive your Z for most of the year, the sand and chemicals they put on the roads may not do your paint finish any favors!

While I'm a Colorado native, I lived for a few years in Falls Church, VA and enjoyed my time there. Welcome!

Thanks for the information. I was planning on taping my car up and driving to Denver but I guess it isn't worth it. My car is currently throwing the SES light due to misfires and I can't pass emissions in VA which sucks. I guess I will get new spark plugs and spacers for the O2 sensor. I'd love to go to the track event! I couldn't find the thread to it though sorry. I was wondering if you could give me details and let me know how far it is from UCD. I will only be able to take the bus line to certain places or just walk. I've lived in Fairfax, VA since I was 3. I found that the area is just boring because there isn't much to do, but I do miss home. Thanks again for the information and the welcoming! I hope to hang out with you guys some day.
