Denver happy hour
Any Denver-area 350Z folks want to get together for drinks/dinner/lunch/whatever during the next couple of weeks? We had talked about it at our last track day as a good excuse to get together when the weather may be too bad to do a mountain drive, and I think the time is here.
Ideas for day/time/place? My preference would be a weekday evening or weekend mid-afternoon someplace with a large parking lot that isn't likely to get full. Sometime between now and mid-December would probably work the best, as the holidays tend to start jacking up people's schedules after that.
Any thoughts?

I am in for sure.....maybe this weekend? I know the weather is looking good for Sat/Sun.
What's everyone else think?
BTW......I might go to the Co. Z Car Club meeting tonight, I can pass the word there too if I go. Anyone else going to the meeting?

Saturday would be good for me if I can get rid of this cold (4 weeks). Sunday, the Sport Z gang joins me at Mile High to witness a Chief whopping. Or not.
BTW, new Hope Page, Preview Page and Fun Page is up. Check it out. The Winter 2003 just went out in the mail; hope it beats the Santa Traffic.

This Saturday works for me (hopefully it's not too short notice for anyone.) If we do it then, I'd like to meet somewhere where I (and any other college football fans among us) can catch part of the SEC and Big 12 championship games on TV.
Does anyone have a favorite neighborhood sports bar that's FAR from any shopping malls and general holiday madness?
Bob - get better. But if you're still sick on Sunday, I'd be more than happy to relieve you of your seat at the Broncos game. After all, we can't have you sitting out in the cold if you're sick, can we?

Gary,
That sounds good to me! I was wanting to catch some football on Sat. too. Perhaps somebody could e-mail the group in order to get the word out. I have the list, however it is on my home computer which I am not anywhere near.
Anyone have some suggestions?..........maybe Fat City or Dave & Busters on Colo. Blvd. Maybe some establishments downtown?
Someone else can decide on the meeting place.
Who's going?

Good idea, Brian; I'll email the group and see what kind of response we get.
As for venue, I've never been to Fat City, but I've heard it can be a good time. Some place like a Jackson's, Old Chicago, or Rock Bottom might also work. Meeting downtown can be tough, but the Rock Bottom or Breckenridge Brewery down there are usually a good time (if people don't mind parking in a garage or on the street...might be tough to line the cars up & meet in one place for the benefit of any newbies to the group.)
Also, does the Dave & Buster's on Colorado have many TVs? It's been awhile since I've been down there, but I don't remember seeing too many of them there.
Any other suggestions?

On no! This Saturday is the SCCA mini-convention and I'm committed to attending- it will help me to plan my 2004 racing campaign. Also have a Christmas party to attend that evening, so I'm SOL there as well. If it has to be Saturday, please post where you are going to gather and I'll try to make it by!
Bob-
Who exactly is the 'Sport Z gang'? Does it include a certain whining Associate Publisher? LOL
Hope you're feeling better, big guy! Four weeks is an awful long time for a URI.

Turns out, the whiner gets here Sunday morning (thankfully). Weenie gets here when he gets here. Can only hope he forgot how to get to my house.
David, come on down and get your Winter 2003 early. Bring Brian, Gary, Dennis et. all -- even Joe. I have Pepsi in the frig (trying to get rid of it)
I love this job.

I usually watch games at the Fox and Hound off of Arapahoe in Littleton. It's got a huge parking lot, it could work pretty well, I suppose. Not sure whether or not I will be able to make it, but I'll try.
I love the Rock Bottom and am there quite often.........however they have a no volume policy on the T.V.'s. I am up for the Fox & Hound or anywhere else. Somebody name a place.
How about CB & Potts @ I-25 & Arapahoe........that way I can make a small drive out of it from my area. I know they have plenty of T.V.'s.
What time should we meet Gary.......not entirely sure when the games start?
Gary, I will call you so maybe we can follow each other down, I will be right by your area tomorrow morning at my parents house.

The first conference title game doesn't start until 5:30, but we may not want to meet that late. Does that CB & Potts at Arapahoe and I-25 have a big parking lot? If so, let's plan to meet there at 1 pm. That'll give us a chance to get together when it's relatively warm out in case anyone has any news mods to show off, and we'll still be able to catch some of the earlier games (Syracuse - Notre Dame, Army - Navy, etc.)
Another alternative is to wait for a later date that may be more convenient for more people, but in that case I say let's get together this weekend for those who can make it, and plan another meet for the near future.
David - sorry Saturday is a busy day. Something tells me we'll be having another meet very soon, and hopefully we can plan it a little better/farther in advance. And what's the story with Bernalillo, NM?
Brian - yeah, give me a call tomorrow if you're in my area and want to drive down together.

URI still a problem today, hopefully the new antibiotics kick in today. I will call my doctor later on to see if this is contagious. If so, I'll stay home and only give it to Art & Dave.
Bob
I might try and make it, but I'll be late for sure. My car is dirty as hell and I need to wash it. I drove it 1500 miles over Thanksgiving, and everything shows on Super Black. Saturday is the only day with "warmer" temps in the forseeable future.
PLENTY OF PARKING!!!
I will see everyone @ 1:00 @ CB & Potts. For the people who arrive first I will present a special gift to use at Potts......(Can you say "Free Beer").
Gary...........I will call you tomorrow morning.......and I also agree that we should do another meet in the future.
See everyone tomorrow.

The New Mexico address is where the Sport Z editor lives. The logos were offered by 'Mike Wazkowski', the moderator. I guess I'll have to fiddle with that to have an accurate byline.
Don't worry- I'm still happily living in Colorado!

Just thought I'd say thanks for the incredible turn-out we had yesterday............................yeah right.
Gary and I drove down yesterday and were the only ones there for awhile. Then David dropped by to say HI. I give the man big props considering he missed a bit of the SCCA convention he was attending just to drop by. Then the highlight of the afternoon, other then the talent working at CB & Potts was a highly modified and very clen looking Z32 who decided to grace us with his presence. The car was absolutly beautiful.
Where was everyone else?............You missed a great winter day to get out and have a small impromtu meet. I wish more people had an interest in this stuff.
