Sorry to report that a grey Z34 was stopped today by police after being clocked doing 113 MPH on a 45 MPH suburban road. Combined with driving on an expired registration (2021 no less), this Z driver was awarded a set of chrome bracelets, a ride in a patrol car and impound fees for the Z. Sadly, the driver was reported by officers to be nonchalant about all of this as he was arrested on October 3, 2024. While I'm all for practicing safe speed on the racetrack, this was yet another example of where older Z cars are ending up. Maybe the owner will ignore the impound fees or have the car sold to cover their legal expenses. I doubt they'll have a license or get affordable insurance after this.

No, and all the Z33 drivers that attended the Nissan Sport driving clinics (HPDE) back in the 2000s didn't fall into this hole, either. But it's surprising how many idiots there are in the Denver area that think they're hot $#%! running on public roads at high speeds. It simply means they'll likely take out someone else (besides themselves) if anything goes wrong. There are plenty of on-track options available (track days, time trials, HPDEs, etc.), but many of the younger enthusiasts don't want to try them. Sometimes I can hear the RACES going on at I-225 in the early morning and just shake my head...
