Default Clear Bra - CO Resource?

Any of you folks have a clear bra installed? How do you like it and do you have a suggested installer in Denver or Colorado Springs? Approximate cost? Where did you terminate the bra on the hood (how far up did you go)?

Just curious... I'm thinking this should be my first mod before anything else. Well, not true... I ordered a V1 the other day... Lemans Sunset is an eye catcher and radar target for sure.

My clear bra was installed at Dashworks in the Montbello area of Denver. I had the 24" material installed and found some issues with the overall "smoothness" of the install. I went back and discussed this with the owner and he pointed out that the 24" material was much more difficult to install than the the smaller rolls.

Upon inspection of several other vehicles with the 24" material, I'd have to say that it seems that I did in fact receive a superior installation.

It cost me about $700.00 for the front end, mirrors, pillars, the leading edge of the roofline as well as the mud guards.

I have a PPW and was guaranteed that it would not yellow for at least the 5-year guarantee period offered by 3M. Unhappilly, it appears that I'll have to remedy this situation within the next 3 years. It is not all that noticeable and I can live with it though. I believe that Sunset would be the perfect color to avoid any dis-colorization problems.

The bra itself goes up just beyond the the tip of the headlamps about an inch.

Hope this helps. If you care to see my (bra) PM me as I'm almost always available on weekends and evenings.

Joe

Joel,
I had mine done at Sunfree, 7350 W. 88th Ave. (88th & Wadsworth). They did the front end up to 12" above the lip of the hood. That goes to abive the headlights as Joe's did. They also did the windshield pillars and above the windshield. I paid about $400 for the job. They did avery nice install.

Do it soon before you get any chips is the best advice I can give.

Got mine installed at the dealership, and didn't have the front facia covered, only the front part of the hood. Looking at my front facia now, I wished I had spent the extra bucks to have it all done.... Colorado roads (and race tracks) can be very chippie to your front.

Good Luck!

I have a Lemans Sunset...........you need the clear bra!!!!! It was the first thing I did.
My set up covers just a bit more then Joe's, but very similar. I paid around $875 with tint at a place off of Arapahoe and Jordan Rd. called......**** name slips me now but they did do an awesome job. Let me know and I will look it up. I went down there all the way from Brighton because I heard such good things about them.

You are welcome to see it if you want just let me know. Although you will have to look at the major damage as well since I recently was crashed into on the drivers side. I wanna kill that *******, but I can't since I have to work with the *****. Should be in the shop next week for awhile to be fixed.

bRIAN,Brian,
That's really tough. Some people rerally make it hard not to kill them. It's especially bad when you have to deal with them on a daily basis. Hope the car is not too bad. Are you going to make the track day at 2nd Creek? It's practically in your back yard.
Hope to see you there!

Not sure...........They are going to try to get in back to me within 5 days but they make no promises. I can wait until the 13th to give them the car but I don't think I will do that because I can hardly stand looking at it with the damage.
I'll just have to wait and see.

Had mine done at Academy Nissan. Cost was $599 for a 24" piece on the hood, sides, bumper, mirrors, and headlights.

Now here is where the Horror story begins.

The phucking installer only had 3 months experience (he told me 9 years), anyway, he didn't know what he was doing, and razor bladed my entire front end, mirrors, sides, and headlights.

Total cost to the dealer, $2500.00

Do your homework. I had a guy at the Dent Clinic do mine when I got my front end re-painted.

I can give you his number if you want it. He did an outstanding job, even let me watch him do it.

BTW, make sure they wrap the clear bra, what I mean, is they wrap it under your hood, ect.

GL, and yes no matter how much $ it is, get a clear bra. You won't be disappointed. I have had my car 14 months, and have not a had rock chip yet.

If you wanna look at mine, we can meet up somewhere. I live 2 minutes from Academy and Platte.

"razor bladed my entire front end, mirrors, sides, and headlights"

Ouch! That's exactly what I wanted to avoid! I figured I could have a tint shop give it a go, but I want to know exactly what they are going to do and how they are doing it. Dent Clinic does it too you say?
