Default well, gotta replace the tranny :(

about 1800 miles on my 2 week old Z and the tranny is GONE. sounds horrible and i can barely get any power to the ground

does anyone have any experience with any dealer service departments around san diego? i'm thinking about taking it up to performance nissan to make sure it's done right.

dan-14,

Man that must be suck. I feel for you. A brand new car, what can i say. My '04 sometimes grind going in 3rd. I just don't know if a new tranny will ever fix the problem.

I have about 16k miles now. Happened since new too. I just learn to live with it. I made a few appointments to see Perf. Nissan, but never went in.

Can get any power to the ground? That sounds like a clutch problem, not tranny.

yea it's both . the clutch sometimes doesn't get power to the ground and the tranny is clunking and making whining sounds all the time.

i had noices comming from the tranny since the day i bought it a little over 2 weeks ago. i was hoping it would just go away after the brake-in period, but it's only getting worse and now the clutch is acting up too .
hopefully i can get it fixed with no problems.

it will get fixed. Go to the dealer that you bought it from, they have to fix it.

Since they're in there already in there and you got the Nismo theme going on, how about a Nismo clutch, etc.?

My dealership in Abq just ordered me a new tranny at 30k miles. Not worried about it because they are warrenting it and giving me a new clutch plate. Gunna have them throw in a JWT flywheel while they are at it. Wish I could afford a JWT clutch also.
