Definitely don't want cheap work done on your car.
I suggest hopping to San Diego, and visiting "protocav".. chad. PM him.. he is excellent, and helps out forum members.
Additionally, you are RIGHT THERE during the entire install. You see it, you can help. You can do it with him basically, he can teach you. There aren't many shops that will do that. Most won't even let you in the shop area while they are working on the car (for insurance reasons ofcourse). IMO, the second best thing to installing yourself is being side-by-side with someone skilled enough to install it, with them explaining what they are doing. Otherwise, how else do you learn? Even for people who aren't the type to DIY, then still take the time to see how parts are properly installed.
As for the intake, that is really quite easy to install, esp if it is not a cold air. Just be careful with the MAF sensor, and you are fine.
sway bars and intakes are very simple to install. if you have a tool set from SEARS, a jack and jack stands, it's a good way to learn how everything is put together-
save your money for the harder installs like LSD or Headers... intake, everyone should know how to do it.

Jim (awaits some local shop to come on here and bash garage-rate mechanics that steal business from hard working shops....
