Also don't forget the Gaslamp and Seaport Village area for dining and some nice walks on the pier. Seaport has those shops that women tend to call "cute".
haha funny, I just left a post about my girl and our 2 year anniversary and we're going to santa barbara. well we went together about 1 1/2 years ago, we stayed in the gaslamp quarter (lots of things to do, restaurants, bars, clubs) but most places are pretty pricey. We walked along seaport village and then we went across the bridge to coronado island, grabbed lunch at this pretty famous seafood place, sorry i forgot what it was called, then we went to coronado beach and walked through the hotel del coronado (pretty famous hotel). oh also we went to the USS Midway, lol that one was for me.

Or you guys can go on the ghost-hunt tour.
lol
Hit up the Whaley House in Old Town then off to the Coronado Hotel.
Tip: If you're going to go to Gaslamp and only be there a little over three hours. Park at Horton Plaza (the mall), get your ticket validated at like Star Bucks or the Newspaper stand. That's three free hours of parking right there, and you're in the center of everything.
If you get there later than 10pm then you will have to look for street parking or just pay a flat rate on those lots.
