I guess this means Sunday is the day. Shall we meet up at Jerry's in Encino again between the hours of 9am and 10am?

Time:
February 2, 2003. 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Location:
Jerry's Deli
16650 Ventura Blvd.
Encino, CA
818-906-1800

Run through Angeles Crest. Lunch at restaurant up there around noon.

SnoopyZ, Unho, are you guys down?
Unfortunately... we thought that no one wanted to run... now have other plans... oh well. Maybe next time...

What happened ne way? What made you guys change your mind?

We decided Angeles Crest run would be a blast. Are you interested in bringing those Zs that are going to your Santiago Canyon run to an Angeles Crest run instead? The more Zs the merrier you know.

Cool man. If your boss is also your significant other, bring her along too so she can't complain eh.

We'll be at Jerrys and will take off at 10 a.m. We should make it to Pasadena by 10:30 a.m. Give me a way point and we'll meet you there or, call me on my cell and we will hook up wherever you want. Crest entrance if you want.

Wheeeee! There were some awesome curves. PasadenaZ, Iris, Alpine and daughter and myself made the trek up to Newcombs and higher.

I met Alpine the day before at a detail shop, Distinctive automotive, and he joined us for the ride. He's got a beautiful DB track Z with leather. We met up at the Shell station after Jerrys. PasadenaZ took us up to Newcombs (28 mi from base) where we had some great eats. Bikes all over the place. New York steak was yummie. Funny thing is, bikers would normally check out their rides, today, they came over and checked out ours. "You in a club man?" Got a lot of that question heh.

Alpine took us further up where we saw snow and starting getting rocks. Got little chips on my windshield from those rocks. Oh well.

I led coming back down. Didn't see any cops until back at the Shell station at bottom of the run. He of course, started to check out Alpine's Z and was very cool. "Does it go?" To which Alpine responded, "It goes." Heh. Alpine took pics, maybe he'll post them later.

Think I hit 130 mph on the way back. Love that 210.

130!! I only got to 95! (also on the 210 and 134).

100 more miles to full break-in (yes, I know I've had the car for awhile, but I don't drive it to work everyday).

Fun curves ("25 mph") at 45-55 mph. Lots of little rock chips on my hood. Oh well, the honeymoon period is over - this car was meant to be driven and I'm going to TRY and not care about that anymore.

robert, it only took a few hours to go through all the first application steps... very nice results though.
