San Diego - Tuner Shop list?
What tuner shops have you used, and what were your experiences? As more and more of us start to mod our cars, it would be nice to have a thread pointing us towards the better shops around town.
I have a set of SS lines I have been trying to install on my car, but work, family etc have been eating into my weekend time and show no signs of relenting. So I decided to have someone do it for me, but I don't know of any reputable shops around. Any recommendations?

There's Pan Auto right off of convoy, forgot what street it's on.... I usually go there, they've been pretty good to me.....
There's Group 5 off of Miramar Rd......
Also there are some places in Nat'l city and Chula Vista, but I don'
t trust them.....
Sorry I couldn't give ya any specific addresses, but at least you now have a general location......

Group 5 is probably your best bet as far as import tuner shops. They do allot of higher end cars but they are also more expensive than the rest. I would personally go to a tuner shop in LA that is well known. I really do not trust the tuner shops down here in San Diego. Most will have non certified mechanics working on your car. I would rather go to a performance garage than a tuner shop to have stuff installed.

My name is Terry Faugno, and I am the proprietor of SXPi, located on Production Avenue (off Miramar Road), and we have primarily focused on the Subaru WRX and the older 2.5RS, we have ASE certified technicians to perform installations of whatever you might need.
The shop number is 858-536-9100, and we are open from 9am- late.
Thank you,
Terry Faugno

What I think you need is someone that knows Nissans inside and out!
Do any of you remember Surfside Nissan in Oceanside? Well, my brother worked as a master tech for nissan from the days Pryor to the 240Z" such as 411's, and fairlady's all the way through the present. When Surfside Nissan sold out and Mossy took over, the owner of Surfside gave my brother (out of respect for his approx 30 years of serive to Nissan) the name Surfside to use for his own shop. During his time at Surfside Nissan, he was the last Nissan mechanic that worked on a car in all of southern Calif., Az, and Nevada. After all the dealers could not fix a nissan, then he would get it, if he could not fix it, they would fly in an Engineer from Japan. This status was assigned to him by Nissan speically.
Based upon his expertise and being an honest mechanic, I suggest that if you want your Z treated right, take it to him. If you are interested, call Surfside Auto in Oceanside (760) 439-9220 and ask for "Tooky" Wisener. Tell him his brother Jeff refered you.
PS: his knowledge of Nissan hada hugh influence on me to buy a Z. He knows the product well and also knows the drivetrain is rock solid. I am not into paying for cars that break often. I have been there and done that and do not want to do it again.
