i got rear ended by an uninsured unlicensed guy today....
it was raining and got rear ended on the 210. he said he had no insurance and license was suspended. he gave me all his info and number and after they towed his car, i took him in my car to a body shop that all my buddies go to called newtech on san fernando. anyway long story short the estimate came out to 3500ish with a new rear bumper, nismo apron, fender repair, paint, and a new so-3 tire. they have all his info in terms of his id card copied on file and his number/ address. I felt sorry for the guy since his car was totally messed up so i didnt report it. what other steps should i take to feel a little more uneasy?

there is a reason his license was suspended.
I fell for the same thing a few years back and I ended up getting sued. Fortunately my insurance company went after the guy got him.
If someone doesn't have a license or insurance and is still driving he needs to go to jail.
Hope it works out for the best and he comes through and thank you for being a decent person, I hope it'll pay off for you

Very sorry to hear about the accident. I would contact your insurance ASAP (hope you have good uninsured motorist coverage) unless this guy can cough up the dough right away. There must be a reason that he does not have any insurance...

Danny, just make sure you're on his case.. keep him on a short leash. I agreed with the rest of the guys that you should of called the cops but I also know what you mean about having sympathy.... fight it.

Sympathy isn't going to feed you, and it certainly won't fix your car.
ALWAYS get a police report.
I could tell you horror stories about people who've gotten screwed by "uninsured" motorist. I even know someone who had his car totalled by a girl with a razor cell phone in a brand new honda. She gave out fake info and disappeared. Now he has to walk everywhere.
If this person was honest, THEY WOULD OF HAD INSURANCE AND A DRIVER'S LICENSE. The fact that they don't is paramount evidence that they are in fact, dishonest.
P.S. I am glad you got lucky and the guy actually dropped 1250k. What I want to know is, if he has the cash to just drop as payments, why does he not have insurance, and why does he not have a license?
I do not believe in coincidence like this.
