Just a note for future reference: regional posts are better answered in the appropriate regional forum.

not yet.. I've been pulled over a few times for other reasons, but they haven't said anything about the exhaust.

They could never see HF cats, but removing Emissions equipment is a big fine, and probably more.

my friend got busted with test pipes on his integra last year. cop said removal of cats was a 1500 fine, couldn't drive his car, and he had to pay for it to get towed, and it was a hassle getting it back from the cops.

i wouldn't chance it in cali, HFC are your best bet. if you get unlucky and get caught for test pipes, its gona cost you a grip, totally not worth it. you might get lucky like some of the people here in cali or you might be unlucky like my friend and get pulled over for a simple exhaust, and then the popo smelled the fumes

+1 TPs in CA = $$$ fines.

HFCs are a bit more tricky. You are technically not allowed to change out cats prior to 50K miles, but a lot of people just "run over road debris" which damages the cats (wink wink) thus requiring them to be replaced.

Having said that, there is really no way a roadside inspection is going to discover them.
