Default Driving to Big Bear tips?

I'm planning to go the first week of April. I'm gonna leave the Z behind and take the Honda Odyssey. This is my first trip to big bear and possibly driving in snow. Is there anything I should know to better prepare myself for the trip?

do you have any passengers that are prone to motion sickness? if they are i suggest you take the highway 38 its longer but less turns for the people. But if they arent..take hwy18. ohh yeah on hwy 38 be careful for hwy patrol cause there are so many opportunities to speed..they usually camp at blind turns on the side....

What he said. 38 is more scenic, too. Is there really still snow up there?

um, don't think there will be any snow up there in April.

And like the guy said above, make sure you know if your people get car sick from the turns. Last thing you want to do is to pull over every 5 minutes because someone is sick.

Nothing tricky about it really. There has been some road construction in recent time, so make sure you check before deciding on your route. You shouldn't hit any snow.

I was worried about encountering snow and having to chain my tires but I guess there isn't going to be snow when I'm driving. Thanks a lot everyone for the advice.
