i believe you can go to your court date and ask the judge to reduce the fine. i think its up to his discretion. dont quote me on it though.

i havent gotten a ticket in 7+ years but got nailed yesterday on my way home for driving through the double yellow lines..... kind of scared to see how much the ticket will be for.

Was the tix written by a cop or she get caught by the camera?

If it is by camera, they supposed to send you the tix with a clear pic of the car license plate and the driver, otherwise, you can dispute that.

$422 sounds about right. Mine was $385 a few years ago.

In any case, not much can be done except to pay the fine. They might offer her some traffic school so the point won't go on her driving record. If the point shows up, say hello to a higher insurance.

Hey Jason I fought mine and won how?..............The vid the deputy had was very grainy and according to him he was not postive it was me. The had a laptop with vid at the court room and I simply stated it was not me and I was not sure who it was. The glare on the Z was too much for a postive ID and the judge dismissed the case. I got lucky only because the Deputy was a nice guy and told the judge the video footage was not clear enough. The video was taken from 3 angles of me running a red light. I would make appearance before a judge and try my luck.............hope the G-friend gets lucky.

University and Iowa?

I teach at UCR and every light they're snapping pictures of one or two people running that light. The traffic is always backed up there in the evening and people want to cheat the light.

i got one for a stop sign. the judge let me plead guilty under some article that wipes it from my record if i dont get another one for 3 months. and he reduced the fine because he knew my mom haha.

in cali, cant you just go to driving school to take the place of the ticket? just go to court and explore your options. around here, if the cop doesnt show up to argue, you get off.

They had them in downtown Minneapolis. They had to take them down because of a lawsuit saying they were unconstitutional or something.

If i'm reading this right, she made a right turn witch is perfectly legal, everyone does it when making a right turn at an intersection, you yield if its a red light and wait until it clears to go, or if it's green you just go ahead and turn. I think you might be able to fight this. Now did you guys recieve something in the mail or did she just tell you that she made a right turn and it flashed? They actually review these things now before mailing out. You might not even recieve anything if your lucky, If you do just tell them there is no sign that says "no right turn when light is red" and you might be ok. I work for Budweiser in Riverside and I run that damn light on University and Iowa all damn day long, I hate that stupid light. Of course the truck is so damn big all they get is a pic of the trailer.

Drive with no front plates. Then again, the front plate ticket will be an issue.
