Default Mazda RX-8

Got an email from an old high school friend. Our 10 yr. reunion is at the end of July. Apparently he has already ordered his RX-8 and is talking a mad game of sh*t about how the renesis is gonna blow my Z away. He's had two RX-7's and the RX-8 will be his third in that line of cars. The 350 is my third Z. Looks like my reunion will be fun after all. Gotta get those pulleys and that borla exhaust soon though.

Since the RX-8 is scheduled for release this summer, I imagine a lot of us will be getting hit up for the Nissan v. Mazda street challenge. Play to win or don't play at all.

How can this be a challenge? The RX-8 is slower than the G35 coupe!!! And even the Altima 3.5!!!

Unless they squeezing or got FI, they'd be stupid to try a race.

Tell him to bring some Caranuba because he's in for a waxing.

Tell him that racing a RX8 vs. a Z is just like his rear doors.... suicide.

Ok, I admit, that was borderline corny.

yeah, those cars would have to duke it out on a road course not a drag strip. you'd think a guy with two previous rx7's would know what the rx8 was designed for.

Going camping with some people. but it looks like rain on sunday. driving the highlander up?

i'm just hoping we get the discount on the rx8 a year after it comes out. it's still a lot of money though.

i just found out my friend got his 99 cobra (4.6 4 valve, 305 hp) for $18k with 1000 miles on our used lot because he knew the group that bought it ended up not doing their testing on it. and this whole time I thought he bought it brand new. that bastard... but then I told him to keep a look out for me for any other used cobras. hehe

Yeah, I think we are. But part of me really wants to drive the Z up. 95% Highlander though.

hehe, that would be SWEET! I might actually visit you out in Detroit so I could drive it. Ha! I tried to rent a stick in Minnesota to practice, but nobody has sticks anymore.

Bullish, you're bad. Can't wait for Vegas! Part of me feels like playing stupid college drinking games!

beware the RX-8
the magazines have been running them with blocked ports
they arent opening right so the car is loosing power in the top end ALOT of power.
on that note, he probably wont have it by reunion time
theyve pushed back the RX-8 release because of it.
a magazine said driving with the ports closed is like driving an s2000 without vtec.
dont know how well it will really do, just be careful.

well guess we'll just have to let the streets of anaheim determine who's the winner (that's where the reunion is) or if he doesn't get it by then, we might just have to wait. either way, should be fun.
